A pair of Classic Hip-Hop Stepper's remixes inspired by an old mixtape idea Maker and I had many years ago... Having a Stepper's set ready at a moment's notice is damn near a requirement for being a Chicago DJ. So, seeing as I had no idea Steppin was a thing prior to transplanting here, it was a verrry sharp learning curve once I started DJing around town. What I found most interesting, when thinking of it as a genre of music, is that anything can be a Stepper. No matter the artist, or song, or category. As long as it has the right movement.

A fact that makes for fun times in the studio! These remixes come from sessions earlier this Summer when it was just starting to feel like Summer. I was going for a 'windows rolled down on a Sunday afternoon' vibe. Also, I just love putting Hip-Hop over smooth sh*t lol. Enjoy!

This is gonna so corny, but here we go: this was one of the most fun shows I've ever did. Playing Amsterdam Dance Event for the first time with this new GIMLI alias, even with my own House of GIMLI hosting, with a huge squad from hometown Tilburg in front of me and the fabulous people of Club Nyx. No crowd of thousands, just a small dark sweaty room full of ravers.

Also a big big shoutout to DEBAR, 3kus and Fedya Hella for playing joining and playing huge sets! 

Here's the recording of the set I played there. Not the neatest mixes and you'll completely miss the vibe of that room on that specific day. But it might bring you back there or give you an idea of this night!
