2022 has seen Dropset launch an assault of Deadly dancefloor weapons with huge showings on labels such as Cause 4 Concern, Code Smell & Korsakov this year alone. and his latest instalment with us on Dirtbox, to
sees the year out in style with 2 head spinning slabs of fist pumping goodness to party to, closing out 2022

1/ Imminent Attack
We start off with Dropset’s signature style intro. Heavy haunting pads and synths climbing to an intense percussion segment and finishing with the vocal skit taking you into the ever powerful drop that is relentless in its cause to create dancefloor mayhem.

The second drop intensifies and takes a whole other direction with its halftime beats changing up the momentum of the track before finally releasing the wrath of its final moments mayhem that will be sure to make you want to attack that stage barrier separating you from the Dj.

2/ Dark Tower’
As we come into the second track of the EP. Dark Tower is the track originally that sparked the release to go ahead and you will hear exactly why early into the Intro as we are taking into an anxious filled build up where you are waiting for the drop to come.

Once it does it, The juggernaut is unleashed as the track takes you on a darker than black musical journey throughout without hesitation of giving you a rest.

The second drop is more of a twist as the halftime beats trick you and take you well out of your comfort zone before dropping into the ten ton monster again catching you off guard and dizzying your brain and movement in your body.

One thing that we have been quite persistent on with Dirtbox Recordings, Is that we want to bring you fresh music constantly and only remix tracks when it is time, And the time IS NOW!

Only our 2nd deep dive into this territory and we are positive this one has been worth the wait.

We selected 2 tracks from one of our OG artists on the label the one and only Traced and his debut with us “The Time Is Now” to get the remix treatment from 2 of our favourite producers from over the years. `Xtronx` hailing from Paris, France. And `Just Breathe` Sunny, Surrey UK.

`Xtronx` has shined brightly in the French Neurofunk DNB scene over the years with his twisted collaboration of Drum & Bass and Metal sounds all topped off with a high octane sprinkling of scenic energy. 
The hard work he has put in has seen the fruits of his labour pay dividends by getting himself signed to `Chateau Bruyant Records` and seen him garner support from the legendary Level Zero and
Zardonic.

And from what he have recently learned this will be the final release under his current Xtronx name but new music on the horizon under a new moniker `Just Breathe` Hailing from Surrey, UK has followed a
much more different path though, building up his CV with not only Drum & Bass but House music too.

Make no mistake about it, Sam (to his friends) Lives and (Just) Breathe’s music, as if he is not putting together the next big rave banger. He is composing music for freelance work and writing for the likes of Movies and TV. Which has given Sam the the skills needed to bring an epic piece of art to any release he puts his hands to.

Xtronx’s take on this Dirtbox classic takes all the right elements you love from the original and like any great remix ads exactly what is needed to bring it to the present while also encompassing his stamp onto the release.

Epic movie-esque synths bring you into the familiar vocal before a sledgehammer is dropped to bring you huge drums to turn this from a funky Neuro number. Into an all out onslaught on the senses and
a chugging death metal beat before again bringing in the original sounds we all know and love from the original

Just Breathe strolls into his debut for the label with confidence in his production and takes on the Traced banger like he knew all along he would be remixing it.

This one has been going off in sets to the lucky few playing it since last summer and now its finally time to unleash it to the masses.

We are proud to present, easily the biggest project of the labels history, the biggest project of any label we have been involved in full stop.

The Vibe City project.

22 artists, 21 tracks, 4 singles and 2 huge compilation albums spanning release dates across 2 whole months. 

And we are finally here.

This project was put together to not only bring to light new artists we were so excited to try and release with but that we wanted to show the range of the label and destroy any miscommunication that it ran as 1 single Drum & Bass Sound.

Dirtbox covers the whole spectrum of our beautiful music genre we all love and we felt it was time to dedicate some time to the Liquid drum & bass followers and bring them something quite special, and
rather epic.

After months of set backs, re-dos and “fuck it” days, The project has finally come to life and has reached the time to get it released to the masses, after 6 months of planning through artists,
distributors, press and an amazing set of bespoke artwork.

As you`ll see, the artwork represents what we see as a summer spectacular in Drum & Bass. with that added hint of fun turning each artist into their own specific Miami Vibe character for the project.
A big thankyou to everyone in the background working on this monumental project. 

It truly is something to be proud of by everyone involved.

1/ “Kusha- Come Back To Me”

We kick off LP 1 with a huge one. This not only is the first single released as a sampler of the album (Out August 11th) but has recently been selected to appear on BBC Introducing in July of 2023.

Within days it was then also selected as BBC West Midlands track of the week and was played 5 days on the trot by Rakeem Omar on the BBC Breakfast show on West Midlands radio.

Phenomenal work and lots more in store with this release as its seriously blowing up for everyone who hears it.

The track is laden with a huge summer vibe piano and a lovely pair of wobs. Plus lets not forget that ever present festival friendly vocal the crowds are going to be going insane for We are so excited for this project and hope you are too.

We kick off our Autumn release schedule by taking no prisoners. We found a glitch in the Matrix. And through this glitch a portal, that once you play Neurofunk Drum & Bass down it, that 2 futuristic cyber soldiers appear,
brandishing heavy drum & bass artillery and plenty of Prawn cocktail crisps for supplies.

What was even more shocking was that the 2 soldiers were future selves of producers `Cyntax` and `The Fi5th` Cyntax handed me over a dusty USB stick. patted me on the shoulder, before nodding to The Fi5th before jumping back down the portal just before it closed.

It took me a while to decrypt the USB but once I had done this, and had gone through its contents. I knew the future of Drum & Bass was in my hands, quite literally. 

The contents... 2 tracks depicting what Neurofunk Drum & Bass would sound like 10 years from now. 

I decided to show a few people, but was warned harshly that people would just not be ready for this type of cyber connected, audio, neuro-lization of the senses.

So it is without further ado, you have been warned before listening to the latest Dirtbox release at your own peril. This will change the landscape as we know it. 

“Cyntax- Face Pound”

We throw on our 4 inch gloves on this one and get ready to smash your teeth down the back of the throat.

Heavy, violent Neurofunk. Catapulting into the first drop with a relentless grip on your nervous system.

Some may recognise this from multiple sets the past 12-15 months from the likes of Zombie Cats and Jade Its ever recognisable synth work flows tremendously across the track and audio programming is a pure 10/10 leaving you bloodied and battered from the Face Pound.

“Cyntax & The Fi5th- The Machines”

We finish off the release by bringing in extra reinforcements, The exciting sounds of The Fi5th bless this one with techno driving bass and epic synth stabs to disjoin your brain cells in every way possible.

A relentless juggernaut of Neuroscape sounds fill your ears and sends you to a far off place in your mind where you feel the robots have taken over, and this is their soundtrack.

As we embark onwards of our 5th full year of running at Dirtbox Recordings we embark on, what can only be described as the most intuitive and ballsy project to date.

January 1st see’s the Tape Pack Series unfold with Part 1 headed by Neurofunk producer `The Fi5th` and Part 2 headed one of our new filthy favourites `Shayper` In this project what you can expect to see is a series of releases spanning 12 months.

Both artists will be dropping a single, on the 1st of every month on our side project to Dirtbox no matter what day that is.

This is first of all to create consistency for these artists on their release schedule, making sure both have monthly music out while also letting the audience know exactly when to expect the next.

The releases are ready to go now with all work within the background completed and waiting for each release to land on stores.

Additionally to this both artists are receiving a much higher cut than a usual label split while additionally we have managed to cut the majority of costs for the release to help push a lot more revenue through to the artist.

Very recently Spotify have decided to not pay for tracks streaming less than 1000 streams per year, in which from then that revenue generated will be spread out to tracks that do.

A very poor situation for producers and labels a like. But to counter this we are working closely with the artists to make sure their accounts on Spotify help to create a better chance to obtain streams through their updated profiles. consistent music released to incur additional playlist consideration.

1/ Dropset- Dark Tower (Glitch City Remix)

Back in 2022 we were super excited to include and debut US producer Dropset on the label who brought to us 2 huge Neurofunk DNB bangers that went on to be 2 of the most downloaded and streamed tracks on the label to date. Even now the originals do some serious damage.

“Hold my beer” In walks one of our favourite names in the business. and highly established artist `Glitch City` who’s previous work speaks for itself. 

Sam has gone the route of stripping away the `tear out` on this one and in its place a grumbling, nasty roller with the sharpest edges you’ve ever heard.

Another hit on the cards? I think so.

2/ Beskar- Mount Arakeirkos (Konetix Remix)

Bubbling in the underbelly of the UK Jump-Up scene is a bunch of producers carving themselves a huge future career in the sounds of Drum & Bass. Leading that chart alongside his peers is London’s own “Konetix” who is quickly becoming a `go to` producer and DJ for the sound.

Recent collaborations with the likes of Phantasy, DRS & P Money have catapulted Ben to the forefront of DNB with an upcoming room hosted by his own brand Melted Face Records at the future SASASAS residency at XOYO london.

Bens Remix of the classic Beskar track on Dirtbox takes the Star-wars elements to the extreme with a superb Dance Floor screecher. 

Additional drum solo drops on this one give it a new lease of light and urgency like never before. This one does not dissapoint.

3/ Lee UHF & Rogue- The Music (L3MMY DUBZ Remix)

Label owner Lee UHF teamed up with producer Rogue back in 2019 to bring a new lease of life to the old skool hardcore anthem “Music So Wonderful” 3 remixes later and we let the one and only L3MMY DUBZ take the head control on this one with probably the most vocals he's ever used on his belgium influenced DNB productions.

What transpired is the filthiest track you’re ever going to hear in 2023

This remix turns everything on its head and throws all the rules out the window. Only for the headstrong but a true nan slapper if we ever heard one.

Now in 2024 we are celebrating 5 years since the labels inception, something we are exceptionally
proud of that has included not only 50 general releases but now 6 compilations from 160 artists
providing us 158 tracks since our inception in
2018
Thank you to everyone supporting this, on one
of our most crowning achievements, The
artists. The people buying and streaming the
music and the people behind the scenes who
truly are the backbone of this label alongside
the artists in getting things done.
And now, 5 years brings us to 50 releases, and
a 4 part EP series focusing on some of the best
tracks from our back catalogue remixed to
perfection by some hugely talented artists.
A huge 26 track album of past, present and
future remixes that includes 20 exclusive (Until
now) unheard of remixes for the masses.
Some of the artists brought in on Remix duties you will know such as Just Breathe, ESKR, TRCD,
Beskar, Impex, Noise Souls, The Fi5th, L3MMY DUBZ, Giga, XtronX, Maniatics, Komatose, Bally &
Boom who all bring updated versions of some stellar heat seekers to the label.
They are joined by some hugely talented debutants, Yet again lending their talent to us to bring us
one of the greatest remix projects ever in DNB. Stonx, First Person, Glitch City, Pish Posh, Bad Ace &
Konetix.
As you can see a huge spread of varying styles and sounds incorporated in this album to cover every
single sub-genre of DNB possible in what is truly a fantastic milestone for us, and for any label in
drum and bass.

As we embark upon our 6th year in existence, Leaving a huge legacy in our wake and triumphantly smashing through the doors of our 50th release we show no mercy and unleash this beast of an EP from our favourite little Jui-Jitsu Warrior from Portugal. Impex.

His last full EP with us knocked it out the park with 2 tracks getting support from the mighty Noisia on their Vision Radio show.

So as you can imagine we have high hopes on this one following his warm-up back to us with the ever sexy Remix he did of Dropset “Dark Tower” on our 50th release.

Strap in and get ready for a big full on ruckus, some conflict and plenty of confrontation as to why you're not playing this loud enough.

1/ Impex- “The Knot”

Impex opens up the show with what you would expect
from the Portuguese man`O Neuro war.

Horror-esque synths and effects glisten up the drop of this one with an evil skin crawling audio sample. closely followed by Impex’s own Portuguese Techno bee’s swarming across the whole track, taking you on a frenzied, futuristic buzz.

2/ Impex- “Conflict & Confrontation”

Our EP title track is up next and its intentions are not good. In fact they’re down right evil.

Don't let the spiritual chanting trick you into a false sense of calm, as before you know it the pots and pans are out and you are being walloped around the back of the head and front of your knees to
send you into a topsy turvy spin unlike any other.

A homage to 2006 and beyond on this one and a welcome addition to a fantastic EP and follow up from Impex

3/ Impex- “Synth Psycho”

We take things slow as we close out the EP with an unrecognisable sound and sample processed into oblivion
with the classic Impex sound.

A neuro growler and underground favourite unleashed on this beast, A truly innovative sound design using a plethora of distortion and manipulation to bring it to life as Impex destroys yet again with an epic EP of drumatical proportions Impex’s Conflict & Confrontation EP is out April 15th

Things are hotting up with our releases from Shayper Titled "Iteration" and The Fi5th titled "Procedure" V's 5 through to 8 land on this drop from both artists giving us vast coverage of multiple DNB sounds and styles throughout to help us culminate at the end of the year with 2 massive artist albums (We have something
special in mind for sure just you wait.

Additionally now all tracks have added names to them for an individualistic look and to give it more noticeability. 

As we embark onwards of our 5th full year of running at Dirtbox Recordings we embark on, what can only be described as the most intuitive and ballsy project to date.

In this project what you can expect to see is a series of releases spanning 12 months. The first 4 are already out there and both artists will be dropping a single, on the 1st of every month still on
our side project to Dirtbox no matter what day that is for the entire year totalling 12 tracks each.

This is first of all to create consistency for these artists on their release schedule, making sure both have monthly music out while also letting the audience know exactly when to expect the next.

The releases are ready to go now with all work within the background completed and waiting for each release to land on stores.

Additionally to this both artists are receiving a much higher cut than a usual label split while additionally we have managed to cut the majority of costs for the release to help push a lot more revenue through to the artist.

Very recently Spotify have decided to not pay for tracks streaming less than 1000 streams per year, in which from then that revenue generated will be spread out to tracks that do.

A very poor situation for producers and labels a like. But to counter this we are working closely with the artists to make sure their accounts on Spotify help to create a better chance to obtain
streams through their updated profiles. consistent music released to incur additional playlist consideration.

Our final drop will arrive come August, In the meantime Check these out.

A celebratory year if we ever had one, Hot off the back of the huge 50th release on Dirtbox and a massive return to the label, we come back thick and fast with very little time to spare and introduce to you all a relatively new name to the label in Noize Komplaint.

To the outside you may wonder who this elusive artist could be. Well you’re already making one mistake as Nozie Komplaint is not one artist but a true collaboration of the minds with a faction of US DNB Producers coming together to create a brand new sound.

A supergroup if you will. Like if the Spice Girls teamed up with Take That and had a pop music baby... Or 3 of them perhaps.

Formed in 2015, Mike Thomas, Dave Hauser, Greg Oerlemans, and the revered Brett Baker unite as a force to be reckoned with to the US DNB Scene and beyond, have already showcased their collective minds and talents with other industry labels such as L Double’s Flex Records, where they unleashed "Rock Solid" upon
an unsuspecting world.

A brand even more synonymous that will raise an eyebrow if you aren't familiar with Noize Komplaint is the pioneering record label Boomslang Recordings which was founded by the group in 2016 and from then on has become a permanent fixture to high profile DNB charts alike and clubs a plenty across the world.

Noize Komplaint in separate entities otherwise known as Gigan, ESKR, Bad Martian and TLDM are only just begun, Welcome to the takeover.

Additionally the Australian powerhouse known as Transforma lends his skilled hands while taking time out from killing giant spiders in Ozzy land to take apart and remix one track from this release that is sure to make you stand up and take notice.

Another huge debut and addition we are sure will take this release into the stratosphere.

1/ Noize Komplaint “Contact”
The starter for the EP and the first track from this release to be signed up we kick start with the remnants of a first contact expedition with the unknown, something so dark and dastardly there are no human words to explain.

Well there's a few but one we will stick with for now is dark.

This one would not go a miss being likened as a Hardware classic for all those that know back in the day and all 4 producers sound shines right through on this one with the perfect blend of effects and dirty synths.

2/ Noize Komplaint- “Extinction” (Transforma Remix)
Before we land the ship, and the final track of the release we decided to flip the switch here and let you hear the remix first.
The one they call Transforma was unleashed on this one and another classic sound is uncovered and homage is paid as we go full on 2008 Tech step vibe on this one.

Limewax and Tech Itch influenced screeches take this into the next level as the true Neurofunk bassline hits and a new direction is taken within the work before culminating in absolute dance floor induced chaos for our second drop of the track.

3/ Noize Komplaint- “Extinction”
We round up an easily best seller of 2024 with the original mix of ` Extinction` a total of 2 years in the making. 

It finally gets its releases surrounded by 2 amazing tracks on either side to create you the Darkest of Darkstep sandwiches.

Massive switch ups on this one and a tornado of high processed synths turn this one into a best until last scenario and one that will never be forgotten.
