Returning for its third installment since 2013, Desert Dwellers’ ‘Night Visions 3‘ delves into Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe’s ever-changing interpretation of global music through eight re-imaginings from the electronic underworld. Featuring remixes of original compositions by Hibernation, Poranguí, Uone & Western, Bluetech, Perfect Stranger, Gaudi, and Banco de Gaia, the collection combines the essence of tribal tech, deep bass, progressive techno, and psychedelic dub into a quintessential journey in Desert Dwellers’ iconic style. With the included tracks equally fit for the energy of a desert dance floor as for calming space of a chill-out stage, ‘Night Visions 3‘ draws upon the duo’s long history of production and performance and offers listeners a doorway to a realm where the boundaries between genres disappear.

As the cycles of life, weather patterns, and geopolitical shifts whirl about them, Dirtwire, the Bay-Area based electro acoustic duo of David Satori (Beats Antique) and Evan Fraser (Hamsa Lila, Stellamara), contain that energy in their latest release, RipTide, out May 12, 2015 on Beats Antique Records. With tracks highlighting the duo’s unique blend of dirt and wire, the album expertly combines acoustic, electric and electronic elements, which are carefully chosen and mixed together into their musical alchemy with pride. Dirtwire is a traveler’s collage of Earth-borne instruments and electronic sounds foraged from Electric Forest to the mountains of Tuva. From their home on the west coast of the United States to far-flung destinations all over the world, these troubadours are welcomed for speaking the most unifying language there is: music.

Every live set is a magician’s surprise show, an invitation to experience instruments that are usually heard only as samples in electronic music. It is a celebration of the art of the instrument, not just the sound you can record from it. Future revival, swamptronica, spaghetti-step, electro-twang — whatever you call Dirtwire’s music, what matters is that you can dance to it, as sure as a lizard dances in the desert.

Dirtwire, comprised of lifelong friends and musicians Evan Fraser, David Satori, and Mark Reveley, are touring now in support of their new record “Road Goes All Night”. The road goes further yet, friends. Come see where it leads at a show near you.
