We were driving up highway 101 in central California this past Winter and noticed that the landscape was drier and browner than any Summer we'd lived through here. The lack of familiar Winter green shocked us, and we channeled that feeling into our music. "The Well" was born. We're excited to have the beautiful voices of Rising Appalachia singing in sweet harmony with us as we join the tradition of bringing song to a struggle in our community and raising awareness of the seriousness of this drought. 

We'd like to take this opportunity to help bring more thought to water conservation, not only when we're in a drought, but as a daily part of our lives. Water is a precious thing. We can all do our part to change our water-wasting ways and keep the wells from running dry. Dirtwire is a traveler’s collage of Earth-borne instruments and electronic sounds foraged from Electric Forest to the mountains of Tuva. From their home on the west coast of the United States to far-flung destinations all over the world, these troubadours are welcomed for speaking the most unifying language there is: music.

Every live set is a magician’s surprise show, an invitation to experience instruments that are usually heard only as samples in electronic music. It is a celebration of the art of the instrument, not just the sound you can record from it.
