We were driving up highway 101 in central California this past Winter and noticed that the landscape was drier and browner than any Summer we'd lived through here. The lack of familiar Winter green shocked us, and we channeled that feeling into our music. "The Well" was born. We're excited to have the beautiful voices of Rising Appalachia singing in sweet harmony with us as we join the tradition of bringing song to a struggle in our community and raising awareness of the seriousness of this drought. 

We'd like to take this opportunity to help bring more thought to water conservation, not only when we're in a drought, but as a daily part of our lives. Water is a precious thing. We can all do our part to change our water-wasting ways and keep the wells from running dry. This is the first collaboration between The Human experience and singer/songwriter ANIIML (formerly Lila Rose). We had such an incredible time working together. About 30 hours of work in 3 days during the extremely powerful times of "Venus in transit" and a Lunar eclipse birthed this song. Lila gave David Block her input every step of the way while he chose chord progressions, instruments/sounds, and arrangements. As the song unfolded she continued to develop lyrics. 3 days later, our song "Dusted Compass" was born.

Looking back at the night we wrote “Coast." We were on a tour stop in San Francisco and decided to take some time to sing under the moon. The lines of the chorus “it’s out of my control, so I’m gonna coast for a little while,” were a reference to our gypsy lifestyle. Little did we know that 7 months later, on the day we release the song, they would be emblematic of our collective psyche. 

While we firmly believe that there are things you CAN control (your heart, your mind), the lyric serves as a reminder that sometimes you need to put down the paddle and let the river take you where it leads. And that’s something a lot of us need to hear right now. ❤️ -Gone Gone Beyond

Coast - Gone Gone Beyond & Moontricks

Dirtwire is a traveler’s collage of Earth-borne instruments and electronic sounds foraged from Electric Forest to the mountains of Tuva. From their home on the west coast of the United States to far-flung destinations all over the world, these troubadours are welcomed for speaking the most unifying language there is: music.

Every live set is a magician’s surprise show, an invitation to experience instruments that are usually heard only as samples in electronic music. It is a celebration of the art of the instrument, not just the sound you can record from it. Future revival, swamptronica, spaghetti-step, electro-twang — whatever you call Dirtwire’s music, what matters is that you can dance to it, as sure as a lizard dances in the desert.
