As 2020 comes to close we are taking stock of life as it compares to a year ago. Nothing was as it seemed then, and likely nothing is now either. We are all deep inside a massive collective psychedelic journey. Good trip bad trip, all our paths overlap. 

On our new album, out now, we explore the idea that we are at the crux of a significant leg of this journey.  Like that moment in most every trip when you are faced with a fear or anxiety and must make a decision on how to proceed, the crux presents both crisis and opportunity.

The featured track here, "Common Ground” is about finding a place for us all to meet in these divisive times in hopes that we can unify and find a path forward.

Cooperation, communication and dialogue are key to unity and resilience.

On the Crux album we are taking musical chances. Some of the most personal songs we’ve written mixed with raw sketched out ideas, to full blown improvised compositions. This is our way of processing the radical changes that have become routine for all of us. This album represents our subconscious hopes and fears for the time ahead. Until Its Over

Happy New Year, my friends! It's been a while since I shared anything. Life has been COVID chaotic, and I have been taking a lot of time to take care of myself and recharge! Recently moved to Portland, Oregon, and Vol. 04 of Downtime Sessions is inspired by that... Riding the constant wave that is life. It's been quite the ride so far, and I can't wait to see what's in store.

"Riding Waves" is a collection of some of my favorite vibey, mellow, dreamy, bassy, and uplifting tracks. Some are newer and some are older. Many genres and tempos. Thanks for listening, and I hope it brings you some joy and gets ya in the feels like it does me. All my love and blessings.

Downtime Sessions Vol. 04 - "Riding Waves"

Dirtwire is a traveler’s collage of Earth-borne instruments and electronic sounds foraged from Electric Forest to the mountains of Tuva. From their home on the west coast of the United States to far-flung destinations all over the world, these troubadours are welcomed for speaking the most unifying language there is: music.

Every live set is a magician’s surprise show, an invitation to experience instruments that are usually heard only as samples in electronic music. It is a celebration of the art of the instrument, not just the sound you can record from it. Future revival, swamptronica, spaghetti-step, electro-twang — whatever you call Dirtwire’s music, what matters is that you can dance to it, as sure as a lizard dances in the desert.
