The last year has been busy for David Parker: living in three different provinces in 12 months, getting accustomed to change. Snakes 4 President is his debut offering as he sheds one skin - Slow Man Tofu - and tries on that of a new animal.

Living in Halifax has been fruitful thanks to the new Central Library, which provides free access to recording studios, where this album was created. He has this to say about the new solo project:

"Look underneath a rock and that's where you'll find snakes. Hiding out form the light, shunning human civilization. Still, much more commendable and honorable than colonialists.

Then we have presidents. They rarely do any good. Meanwhile the collage-maker is having a renaissance as a new kind of cultural marker. A real bubbly lot.

Don't think twice, it's certainly alright. Does a person die most gracefully when they make no secrets? When the construction crew is wrecking your temporary autonomous home, landlords become ridiculous.

Capitalism is earth, and earth is grave. For many, we try to stake out a position and cope with climate change through loss and grief. We can't forsake technology because in it we feel somehow whole again. A carefully fabricated delusion.

Behold: one last ditch attempt at not fading into a blinded copse of trees. On a remote island. Here we are, now. Listen to the good vibes."
