The DIRTYBIRD BBQs have become something I look forward to almost more than anything else we do at the label.  The special daytime sets allow for more risk taking and more bass music to sneak into the house music that usually gets played at night. Leeds-based producer Aaron Snapes first popped into the underground after his first release in 2012 appeared on Claude VonStroke’s Essential Mix and garnered further support from Annie Mac. Since then, he’s split his allegiances between Dirtybird, Hannover’s This Ain’t Bristol, and Los Angeles label Perfect Driver, all while pushing a sound that has this weird effect of having you shaking your ass and crack up laughing at the same time.

There’s always a risk when tampering with a much loved classic record, it can be ruined or taken to a whole new level. With this update Amine Edge & Dance do the original justice and then some. The duo retains a lot of the elements of the original track that made it so special but in true Amine Edge & DANCE style, Lovelee Dae now comes with added punch, guaranteed to go off on the dance floor. These two keep going from strength to strength and 2017 has been their biggest year yet, and with lots going on behind the scenes this looks to continue into the New Year. Recently our demo inbox has been overflowing so we cleared it out, selected the best of the best and created a new compilation series called Traffic Jams. Anyone who's visited our home city of Los Angeles understands the struggle. We could let it get the best of us, or rather, choose to celebrate by cranking up the system. Even in a complete standstill on the 101! 

The series name itself is a fun one that was crowd-sourced on Matthew Anthony's social pages. With some great runners-up like Road Rage, Cruise Control, Riders On The Storm and D.U.I. (Dancing Under the Influence), ultimately the winning title in most peoples eyes was Traffic Jams, coming from our guy Travis Emmons, an artist we previously released a few years back, and again today on PDM099. 

The compilation offers an array of Tech House tracks. There's a few new artists to Perfect Driver including Skinnybit, More Than Friends with OMNOM, Mancodex, Dking, DJ Susan, AYAREZ as well as some favs like A Fox, Travis Emmons, Holt 88 and Matthew Anthony.

We're all proud to be delivering these songs to the dance floor and can't wait to hear what you think. As usual, give us a shout on twitter if you're feeling the release and see you on the road.

Today we are heading over to LA, one of the new leading lights in the American Bass scene, with a tonne of new and exciting artists emerging from the mist every day. We are absolutely loving the American influence on world bass music, with an influx of more techy influences and glitchy, poppy percussive additions making their way into more and more original creations. 

The duo we are here to talk about today are a pair of the most exciting producers we have seen in a while. They have such a clear direction and slick branding that includes a number of high profile EP's alongside the likes of BRASHBEATS, House Of Bangerz, Bottomfeeder Records and more. We also absolutely love their podcasted mix series 'The Bump Complex', within which they invite a different guest every week, showcasing new artists at the same time!

They touch down this time however on Prime, a very exciting label who are on a massive come up, with a release roster stacked with heavy hitters such as Zander, J Shadow and many more.  This EP is therefore the perfect link up as Arnold & Lane unleash three absolute belters, the title track of which we are very exciting to premiere for you today on 3000 Blog! 

As a recording 'King's Crown' is a fantastic title track, setting the tone to showcase Arnold & Lane's uniquely techy style of bass creation. This one kicks off with minimalist drum movements across a spacious introduction, leading towards a vibrant breakdown, based around heavily reverberated bass sounds and a constantly alternating set of sounds, topped off with the occasional vocal slice for good measure.

No stranger to the Box of Cats family, this month we have Chick Iverson returning to home plate. This time bringing his all star batter Subset for a 3am friendly, two track EP set to make some noise as the ball hits a home run.

This is not a game of baseball, and to be honest I have never been to a baseball game, but the pure energy of 'Give Until it Hurts' is what I imagine dancing to when my home team wins. The flip 'Outta Here' is a return to what Chick knows best: a tech-y groove, sexy percussion and indescribable sound design.

When two legends from a legendary city like Seattle team up, we expect no less than what they delivered and we are very pleased to bring you their latest offering.

Hypside Feat. Deschamps - Paranoia

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
