In no time Harry Ley is back with yet another release with the North London based MFR Records. The promising 17 year old producer and DJ follows up his debut release HOUSE with his brand new EP entitled My Neck EP. Opening the EP is not for the easily offended. My Neck heavily samples Khia and is full of solid pumps, an array of fizzing, squelching effects and of course those salacious vocals from the very provocative anthem of 2002 that create an after party feel to the track. Think of the songstress’ vocals on a very skippy house beat. Continuing with the 2002 theme, the 90’s baby Harry Ley decides to chop and screw Khia’s scandalous vocals to create a more macho effect in My Back. Layered on an initial tense track using extra percussive elements, adding urgency to the latter part of the track, My Back has you covered and makes a great companion for the comedown of any after party. Ending the EP with Rocking With The Best, Harry Ley opts for a lot of power and energy, creating an environment full of jittering drums to really heighten the tension and creates a chilling atmosphere through the muzzled kicks. Harry Ley creates some feet tapping Techno and House of the highest order throughout his second EP which will be available to purchase on 12/12/2014.

Billy Kenny and Abby Jane make their Dirtybird debut with 'I Operate,' a house rumbler coming right out of Hanover, Germany by way of Leeds. The Dirtybird crew has had their eye on Billy Kenny ever since his track 'Work' ripped through the party at last year's Dirtybird BBQ series. 

The leading hypnotic vocal sample states simply, "(at night) I operate" - effortlessly evoking imagery of being beamed up by an alien ship on a dark city street. As the track builds, wobbling basslines, echoes, and scorching white noise cascade into a perfect blend of dance floor bliss.

Just when you think you know what you're in for, the switch up hits hard and fast, catching even the most seasoned dance floor veteran off guard. Unpredictable high-hats and low-end oscillations will send you into a tizzy of irresistible booty shaking before the beat drops out and the reverbed vocals leave you yearning for more. Before you know it, the track is building again into a stomper.

'The Chord March' falls in line next. A slow-building groove draws you in then changes up around the one minute mark, only to build you up again before bringing in a symphony of sounds. A rthymic delight that's perfectly seasoned with a tasteful 'uh' sample results in a tune that's as fun as it is irresistibly catchy. This one is perfect for afterhours dance floors.

These two are a force to be reckoned with on the dance floor and you can expect to have your brain frequently rattled by Billy Kenny and Abby Jane in 2015!

DB-122 // Billy Kenny & Abby Jane - I Operate [PREVIEW]

The musical output of London based label Switched On Records has been essential listening for those immersed in the Underground UK house scene for the past couple of years. Their second ever release, from label boss S.E.F, featured the heavyweight track 'M.O.E.' which became an anthem on the London House circuit. Since then the label has gone from strength to strength providing a platform for the wealth of talented, British producers who are pushing the boundaries of the conventional house sound and giving it that UK edge.

Their fifteenth release carries on this tradition with two huge beats from North London-based DJ/Producer Harry Ley. Since bursting on to the UK scene last year, Harry has been making quite a name for himself with releases and remixes dropping on many of big name labels within the London Underground scene.

His latest track 'Somebody' is a high energy number which combines weighty bass stabs with crazy vocal chops to produce a serious piece of dance-floor weaponry which is bound to do some damage in a dance near you soon.

The Deeper Frequencies EP is out on Switched On Records, May 11th.

After announcing the partnership during his debut performance at the famed Mixmag Lab last month, Chris Lake unveils his collaboration with Chris Lorenzo, “The Calling.” Out Now on Ultra Records, the duo are no strangers to working together, with the pair releasing “Wicked Games” last year, and “Piano Hand” on Ultra last May. An infusion of their house influences with a darker and more seductive sound, “The Calling” steers into a deeper direction, with heavy bass and pulsating tones.

The Whistler by Claude Vonstroke

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
