Grab a drink and wet ya whistle people, Wongo is back!

The man is known for many things, and dropping shitty tracks is not one of them. Wongo started this new series of 'Not For Radio' EP's for one reason – let’s just say this music is not your average daytime radio easy listening. In fact, Wongo has even gone as far as saying if he hears it on the radio, he’ll rip his car stereo out and throw it out the window. He kinda seemed serious when he said it too. We were a little afraid.

All jokes aside, this thing is raw and ready for the clubs. Bass, kicks, low pass filters and just enough vocal to keep you interested, this three track EP has one purpose and that's to make you dance. 

The lead record Get Up features the vocals of owie, and its simplicity is what makes it deserving of the A side. On the flip, Waves showcases those tried and tested Wongo flavours with a lots of wizz's and whirls. Lastly, with a kick drum so big you can sit down on it, Wongo brings the EP home with Dusty Jackson. A progressive acid bass and off beat stabs keeps this thing rolling around a cheeky vocal.

Look, we know there's a chance you may think about playing this on the radio, but it’s probably best you don’t tell Wongo :P

Thats what we think anyway, from his first release ‘Connected’ on BOC all those years ago to featuring on our Litterbox compilations, his massive 2 tracker earlier this year with Steve Darko and now a 3 track EP with a feature from our favourite Aussie duo @sodfmusic .

You may have seen the lead track ‘Party Time’ popping up here and there with Justin Martin championing it across the US. Blips Bloops, Whoops and super thick bass all topped off with squeaky resonance to attack the deepest part of your psyche.

‘Thinking Bout You’ takes a few steps back into warp mode with a much moodier take on the Westend sound. ‘Out Of My Head’ is a serious dance floor destroyer. Think 5am, a few too many and a gas pedal all the way down. We suggest you dont slow down..

What is the Perfect Driver Tour Bus? 

We would like to be the first independent dance music record label to take our show on the road. Literally. With help from supporters, label-head Matthew Anthony will be customizing a Sprinter Van to pick up artists in one city to play shows in the next while remote operating the label in an ongoing Perfect Driver tour. See link to crowd-funding campaign below.

Our goal is to give Perfect Driver artists and fans a one of a kind experience. A #VanLife styled road trip where the DJ plays shows in big cities, small towns and everywhere in between, all while producing music in a mobile recording studio. Picture the Perfect Driver high-top Sprinter Van at a local art show or skate park with artists performing from the back. Or our #DJsAndCooking web-series broadcasting live from festivals. Imagine pit stops in National Parks while documenting artist & industry conversations on YouTube or Patreon for subscribers. Our plan includes playing quarterly shows in major markets.

If you're a Perfect Driver artist, we want to bring you on the road. If you're a show promoter or venue, we want to talk about working together. If you're in the media, we want you to help us get the word out. If you're a dance music fan or in the industry, we're asking for donations and partnering with sponsors. As we strive to meet our goal by fall 2019, we'll be happy to hook you up with goodies in return.

BINGEWATCH - Satellite Control [Hood Politics]

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
