Amelie Lens once again joins forces with rising French producer AIROD for an electrifying 4-track techno expedition in ‘Raver’s Heart EP’. 

Following their first collaboration on ‘Adrenaline’ for Amelie’s Exhale Records compilation late last year, Belgium’s techno luminary and French dynamo AIROD will release the EP on Amelie's Lenske Records. 

After their first collab held the top spot in the Beatport charts for weeks after release, it’s clear that Amelie & AIROD's productions are the outcome of a powerful synergy between two of techno's finest producers.

[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE] We’re continuing the runners-up in the Claude’s Construction contest! Congrats to Diverse Tha O.G. with "Tha Lion And The Birdy"! Here's their track, exclusive to the 'Feed!


-How long have you been creating music?

Around 20 years now, but I really had to step back on things, for around 6 years to focus on my glassblowing career, which needed my focus and is a big love of mine. Then I put all my free time into leveling up my production skills, to try and come back as strong as possible upon reentry to the musical realm.


-What do you use to make your tracks?

I was a Cubase guy for my first decade, then made the switch to Ableton. I have been super happy with that choice, I have lots of controllers and some hardware synth's, but I do most things in the box.


-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

It was at the beginning, in 2006. Some DnB friends from Denver all went to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, and happened to find a Drum and Bass party, to our delight! Halfway thru the party, a nice lady from San Francisco came over and chatted us up, telling us DnB is her main thing, but her friends just started a house label started by DnB heads, and we needed to check it out, they were putting out the heaters, and it was starting to gain some real traction in the bay area.

I never could find house I was into, but once and awhile I would hear something at a party that resonated with me, but had no idea where to look for it. When we got back to Denver I found it on Beatport, and bought all the tunes, and was instantly hooked! Dirtybird is the label that made me fall in love with the sound of house, so a massive thank you for that! 


-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

Barclay/Claude on both sides of his musical spectrum, and Steve Darko would be at the top of my list, but I am super into everyone on the label!


-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

I guess Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, I feel like I get into as wild of times as was in the movie, except for I try to not get as sloppy as them, lol.


-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

Tough question! I would put it like this: Burning Man all of the 15 years I have gone were the best events by far! Best festival would be: the Oregon eclipse festival. Best Concert I would say: Tipper Red Rocks.


-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

I would have loved to check out, the whole 60's-70's the hippie then into disco era. So probably then.


-What species of bird best describes you and why? 

The Bird of Paradise, I love the dance they do! 


-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Family, because it's so much more than just music, and that is why I love it so much!

Coupled with his perfectly crafted b-side I’m Gonna, this release is everything you need to get you through your next gym or yoga session. Disclaimer though: we can't promise that you'll be coming out zen'd if you do listen to this while in tree pose.

Marc is not only a huge part of why this label exists, but he was also a huge part of the inspiration behind our sound. We love you Marc, welcome back!

Techno phenomenon Amelie Lens is gear up to deliver 'Hypnotized' - another masterful EP filled with peak-time weapons set to land on June 28 via Second State.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
