[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE] Happy New Year! Our resolution for 2018 is to give you one release a week exclusively to our Birdfeeders. We're kicking it off with an EP from Lucati, "Whistling Duck".

-How long have you been creating music?

I've been making music for 8 years. There's a certain moment when everything clicks, like your confidence in your music, your mixing and mastering. That happened in 2017.

-What do you use to make your tracks?

I lean Ableton, and only use arrangement view. Some of my go-to plug-ins are Massive, Serum, and the Waves Suite. I love sampling old records for kicks, vocals and basslines, helps me get the idea off the ground.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

I discovered Dirtybird when Mr. Spock by Justin Martin & Ardalan made waves. I ran a blog at the time and remember writing a full page review full of kudos and compliments on how brilliant that House track is. Hooked ever since.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

CVS would be legendary. Justin Martin would be emotional and beautiful. Bruno Furlan would be groovy as funk.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

YOLO: A tale of Reincarnation

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

Dirtybird Campout 2016 left a serious mark. It was raw, dirty, and non-stop. The Martin Brothers Drum & Bass set felt like I was in movie. Can't wait to attend East Coast Campout 2018 (my brother Dateless is playing!).

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

If I could time travel, I'd travel back to Ryan Seacrest's office in 2007 and slap the shit out of him for even thinking about creating Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Hopefully that would persuade him to change plans and never air that drool.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?

The Duck probably fits best. I love the water, I love eating bread, and I've been with my girl for many mating seasons.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Dirtybird is the Research & Development center of House music. To be apart of such a forward thinking label and community means everything to me. They have the greatest fans in the world, with the purest motives. It's all about the music. As it should be.

-How long have you been creating music?
I started to produce at age 16, but the Holt 88 project was created in 2016.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
In 2009, I listened to the track "Chimps" by Claude Vonstroke, I fell in love and from here to here I follow everything of Dirtybird.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Certainly, Claude Vonstroke.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
Rocky- A Fighter

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
In Brazil, Kaballah.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
Would not go back, lol

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
EAGLE. The image of the eagle is associated with elevation, determination, overcoming, and victory.

Two dancefloor innovators in Huxley and Jacky link up to debut on Lee Foss' influential Repopulate Mars imprint with 'The Chaos' EP, showcasing the house energy they've both displayed throughout their careers. Within the new material is 'Rave Dance', an anthem aptly titled for its infectious energy. Ardalan’s ‘Mr. Good’ LP offers an emotional look into the heart and mind of a young artist. It’s a coming of age tale that tracks Ardalan as he figures out his sound and creative identity. 

The story unfolds across eleven tracks documenting Ardalan’s search for analog perfection.  The intricate sound design comes from a collection of hardware Ardalan has built over the years. There are no generic basslines or sample packs involved.  Ardalan reaches all the way back to early 2000s while updating the sound with modern mixdowns and clever production tricks. The album is weird yet danceable, classic yet futuristic.  

After watching Ardalan develop his sound and musical career over the years, we're proud to see him turn in this forward-thinking record that pushes his sound to the future.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.
