Returning to the label with the bulbous two-track EP "Turn It Up," Clarke does just that: Writhing in carnal groove simplicity, he taps into the roots of timeless, low-down, butt-wriggling house music with three obscene examples of strong-armed tech funk. "Can You Funk" punches with Breach-level hookiness, and Turn It Up does the loopy-loop with Dirtybirds trademark vocal trippiness.

Fisher debuted “Ya Kidding” at the beginning of the Summer and it took a life of it’s own. With a track that strong as your first record, it was going to be a hard act to follow. Fortunately, Fisher’s sophomore release “Oi Oi” puts all those fears to rest. 

Leading off the EP is “Stop It”—the already infamous ‘roller coaster song’ that fans ask us about daily. The marriage of the track’s bassline and one sentence verse combine for an attention-grabbing single that raises the energy exponentially no matter where it’s played.

“Ya Didn’t” adds a funky bass bounce to a heavy synth stab, and a big buildup that cements Fisher’s reputation as a monster of the party.

Bringing his trademark clean-cut and creative sound that can be felt from wall to wall in the all-new ‘About That EP’. Title track ‘About That’ is an overtly twisted roller with futuristic and melodic parts, built around clean metallic textures, watertight drums and rather naughty bassline.

On the flip ‘On The Job’ is a percussion heavy, detailed piece that’s in equal part fresh and covert. Driven by a simple, nearly archetypal synth sequence and surgically sliced drums that are punctuated by pitched vocals and off kilter synth stabs.

Dirtybird loves funky ghetto tracks - it’s like our kryptonite. “Get Dat” from Gettoblaster and DJ Funk is a prime example why. The Chicago natives are skilled in turning just a few drums and some vocal bits into infectious jams that move every bone in your body. 

The pair of artists have been playing warehouse parties and touring together since the 90’s, before reuniting at Dirtybird Campout West Coast 2017. They rekindled the connection, met in the studio, Funk recorded a bunch of vocal tracks, Gettoblaster banged out the drums, and “Get Dat” was born.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
