In the world of music, we can define limits that are rather limitations of our own ability to comprehend infinity. -How long have you been creating music?
I've been making music for about 5 years now. First in a duo but recently solo.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
Logic Pro for life!

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
So this is an interesting one actually. Who's Afraid of Detroit was actually one of the first Deep/ Tech House tracks I ever downloaded when I was about 15! So 8 years ago now.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Oh wow, there are so many I would love to collab with. Would have to be between Will Clarke and Ardalan I'd say.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Another tricky one. So I was at Secret Garden Party a few years back at The Drop stage, it was the last morning and the sun was rising, and this husband and wife duo who I'd never heard of and can't remember the name of, played this INSANE house set. It was really special.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
I would love to go to 1960s America, for the style and the music. The Rolling Stones man! 

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
A dodo. I know my dumbass would go extinct if I were a bird, I'm quite accident prone haha.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
So I know I'm only new to the label, but there is definitely a family vibe within Dirtybird, I feel like it really let's it's artists express their wackiness, and in a scene which can sometimes be too cool for its own good, that is a huge asset.

Kicking off the EP is the title track "Freak Like That". This bomb rolls out the gate with a wet and squeaky synth build full of ominous chords and ear piercing static. "Wishin" is no doubt a vocal driven track guided by hypnotic, ear bending, and tripped out vocals (Put your headphones on for this one!) This absolute groover is chock full of belting horns and ravey synth stabs that will have you wishin' you could be dancin' every day, every night!

Hopping on remix duties is the NV'd records powerhouse and tech house's favorite foodie, Hot Pot! This skin scalding version of the original flawlessly incorporates elements of the original with off kilter vocal work and reimagined bass lines and synth leads to transform this track into a Rock Bottom approved certified club snack!

Rounding out this massive EP, we brought Rock Bottom label boss Luxo to rework "Wishin" into an underground tech monster.  This four-to-the-floor remix is perfect for the late night clubs.

Why are you a freak?
I am from the U.S. but I have had the opportunity to live on and off in Germany for a few years so my sound is a mixture of those influences.
The music I make tends to be sporadic within the sub-genres under house music. I make tech house, bass house, techno, west coast tech house, and it all somehow fits together quite well.

Most unbelievable moment:
Jolt EP drop with Toolroom’s Strangelove. I had previously self released my first EP and then I got the contract to be on a label with artists like Steady Rock, OMNOM, Astronomar, and NiQw. I was very surprised I was getting a release like that so early on.

Favorite dish:
‘Mother’s Weekly Special’
It is a homemade red sauce, pasta, topped with basil, balsamic reduction and feta cheese.

Favorite freak / why:
My best friend, Cassandra.
She exposed me to Western Europe, specifically music culture in Germany.
We have been able to travel a lot and it has been a big influence on my sound.

Favorite place to be:
Disneyland

Colossi Rah in the future:
I want to try my hand at more techno, continue to make a diverse array of house music, and expand in the variety of labels that I am on.
I have also wanted to do more in the art world. I started to collaborate, choreograph, and compose contemporary dance pieces with a dancer at Netherlands Dance Theater.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
