Soulful and club ready, RN ISMO debuts on Admit One with 'All I Can Be'. The namesake track is one we would call a '9er', perfect for the magical hours of 9pm and 9am. The other tracks on the EP are no slouchers, with 'Wonder' delivering a raw and heavy-hitting bassline all throughout; peppered with incredibly effective percussive elements and vocals. 'Addicted' is a bouncy one, stripped back to the essence of what makes tracks like this great. With the Riffa remix of 'All I Can Be' simplicity is eschewed for a driving powerhouse of a track, making expert use of the elements from the original and giving a fresh coat of paint to an already killer track.

It's not a surprise that the two would gel, both thanks to their happy-go-lucky ​personalities and their thunderous, bass beat sounds. After working in the studio together, what's arrived is a two-track EP titled 'Ol' Dirty Hearts', an ode not only to each of their label homes (Desert Hearts and Dirtybird), but also to the rare sample from rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard on the title track.

Next up with their debut release on Hot Creations’ sister label Emerald City are former college roommates Josh Taylor and Justin Jay. An energetic track full of bounce and edgy samples, Pussy Pop is an ideal addition to the label’s young venture. Bringing his signature dance floor rhythm, Jamie Jones has delivered high quality on the remix with a fun acompaniament to the original.
 
Josh Taylor began his musical career in his hometown of St Louis, Missouri. Starting out as an acoustic pop artist strumming at his ukulele and songwriting, his laid back attitude (and discovery of nightclubs) led him down a path of exploration through music genres. His unique approach to writing hooks and basslines is apparent across the board, from his band The Cozy Boys to his previous collaboration with Justin Jay on the exceptional Fantastic Voyage album.
 
In response to how the two of them came to collaborate, Justin answered “When we were roommates in college, Josh opened me up to the world of singing and songwriting through his jams on the ukulele while I started dragging him to clubs and warehouse parties. He inspired me to take a stab at my own singing/songwriting and I pushed him to try DJing/production.” 
 
The head of his own label Fantastic Voyage and one of the youngest producers to release on Dirtybird, Justin has already seen success that extends beyond his years. With an array of fruitful releases under his belt, the LA based producer/DJ has received support from the likes of Claude VonStroke and Disclosure, boasting “Future Star” recognition by the influential Pete Tong. Justin manifests his soul, funk and jazz routes in a forward-thinking manner that yields his unmistakable house tracks.

We've been homies with Leigh Sedley for nearly a decade and we've watched his path as an artist soar to amazing heights over the years. He was actually one of the first headliners we ever booked to play our Jungle party before we ever started Desert Hearts. He truly embodies everything we want from an artist on the label. He's incredibly talented, and absolute homie, and one of the funniest Aussie cunts we know!

Premiere: VNSSA, Eric Mark - This And That [Box of Cats]

Lubelski has been building a strong presence in LA’s underground scene, playing across the clubs and multi-day festivals as a long-time guest of the Desert Hearts crew and an anchor to his newer Percomaniacs label. With a background in electrical engineering, he is always exploring the sounds and frequencies of analog and modular gear.  

Claude’s been paying attention, and Lubelski has even been invited to come by and visit a few times in the process. He presented a lot of interesting demos but “Impulse Response” really stood apart. The track has a very special and unique breakdown that sounds like a human voice but its so wildly manipulated it becomes its own creepy angelic sound. 

The B side, “Ego Trippin” has a really catchy groove that works incredibly well on that funk-house tip. Again, the vocals are manipulated expertly but this time as more rhythmic elements instead of soundscapes.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
