Probably still my favorite Tek House song of all time

My debut EP, "Pseudo Profound" is a cheeky dunk on pseudo-profound bullshit.  You know, the word salady statements gurus and online personalities make that sound profound but if you actually think about them they really don't make any sense at all.  

I don't know why I just thought it would be funny to theme the EP around that concept.

We're excited to welcome England's super talented Soul Academy who delivers our 16th release and debuts on the label with his latest single "Give It". 

Deep, soulful and full of warmth, the Original mix is a tightly produced groover which blends retro synth sounds and jazzy trumpets with a vocal sample written and recorded especially for the track.

BiG AL strips things back, slices the vocals and replaces the brass melody with keys for his Rub a Dub mix. The result is moody, dark and rhythmic with a hypnotic bass line.

Deephope and Jero Nougues also take inspiration from the vocal "...what it needs is a solid base (bass)" - and neither fall short! Deephope's mix is a beautifully pulsing dance floor track punctuated with 80's toms and some gorgeous synth work.

Jero Nougues closes the release by delivering the quality production, solid arrangement and all round polish you'd expect from a Nougues remix. His use of the brass with sweeping pads and a beautifully bouncing bass line is joyful.

Miami native and Los Angeles DJ and producer Nala is staying busy this July with her unique approach to an alternative EP release.
Releasing one track per week, Nala aims to give each track a special spotlight to be heard on its own. Like her DJ style, Nala's productions vary across the board ranging from heavier electro sounds to the delicate and deep. She dives headfirst into the latter on her latest release 'Kyxuito' with fellow producer TUFF GHOST, a dusky, echoing track that waits to deliver a perfectly timed punch of techno-inspired kicks.
'Kyxuito' will be out on July 13.

Throwing Snow returns to iconic UK imprint Houndstooth this month with his first LP since 2017's 'Embers'.

Titled 'Loma', the new release is inspired by the genres that have made an impact on him throughout his career, with nods to jungle, breakbeat, techno and more heard throughout the release. 

Compiling all eight cuts from his four-part EP series together on the LP, the new album will see the tracks pressed on vinyl for the very first time. 'Loma' also features a very special closing cut from Octo Octa which we are delighted to premiere today.

Coming in at a mighty 11 minutes, Octo Octa’s extended remix is a distinct alternative to the OG cut, shifting from a screw face-worthy stepper into dazzling 'floor filler with ease.

After many years away from the dance music game, London talent Freddie Frampton is back in the thick of it, producing killer house grooves and working his magic on the decks once again.
His long, illustrious, diverse history in dance music stretches back to the acid house heyday of 1989. His baptism of fire came as a young teenager, working at The Crazy Club at Astoria in London alongside dance music royalty like Carl Cox, Grooverider, Ray Keith and Kenny Ken. He soon began DJing, and by 1991 he had his first residency at Legends alongside Alex P and Norris Da Boss Windross.
He rapidly ascended through the ranks, securing a residency at the legendary Hanover Grand, rubbing shoulders with fellow residents Seb Fontaine, Luke Neville and Craig Richards. The Emporium and Leopard Lounge soon also snapped him up as a resident, with guest appearances coming thick and fast at the most influential clubs of the era like Bagleys, Ministry Of Sound, The Cross, Limelight and Tunnel Club. There wasn’t a club in London worth its salt that he didn’t lay waste to in this era. He began to play internationally, and travelled to Moscow soon after the iron curtain fell to play at the opening of their first proper nightclub. He began to dabble in production too, and eventually sold an amazing 12,000 units of his Gwen McKay bootleg Get Swanky - Giving My Love, with support on BBC Radio1
His experience in the nightlife industry also led to him setting up his own ventures. He was the man behind Tryst Nightclub in Chelsea, Bardo in Knightsbridge and the still-standing Beaufort House Members Club on King’s Road. His success in the field led to a many awards in the entertainment and hospitality industry. In more recent times, he became the booker for The prestigious Bloomsbury Ballroom, hosting parties for the likes of Boneca, Bacanal, Love Brunch and Swanky's.
There was only so long he could resist the call of his beloved house music, though. He took a year out of his day job to get back in the music zone after realising that something was missing. “It was a thrilling, soul searching experience”, he says, “dusting off the record collection, dabbling with early 1930s blues recordings, and giving them a unique twist on today’s current sound. I love to delve into musical eras, follow my instinct and see what comes out the other side.” Also a keen guitarist, his skill with the instrument gives him a solid grounding in musical theory and intuition. 
In early 2018 released Keep On aside Marcellus Wallace on Emery Warman’s acclaimed Noexcuse Music. A chugging tech house groover that includes a nod to a stone-cold house music classic, it received a Future Fire accolade and premiere on Danny Howard’s hugely influential BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems show, pointing to a very bright future for his resurgent career. With another, Black Betty, scheduled for release a couple of weeks later on Enzo Siffredi’s iconic Wired label, with full support from Hot Since 82, Adam Bayer, Robert Babicz, Josh Butler, and Solardo, the future is bright

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
