A BIOGRAPHY OF
DIRTY DOLLS
In the mid 1990’s, there was a determined young man who wanted to form a band.  His name was Yopie.  Yopie was too confused to even think about what kind of music the band should play.  And later on, a friend of his, recommended SKA.  He started to gather all the information he could about SKA and started listening to it intensively.  He got interested.   And then he started to congregate some of his friends and talked them into playing SKA.  And the project took a start since then. At first, they did some cover versions of The Pokers, Sublime and Bad Manners.  And as time went on, they started writing their own songs.  With help from the former saxophonist, they had managed to create some pleasing tunes.  The obstacles that they had faced in writing songs started to fade out and it had become a very enjoyable experience for they could express the creativity that longed to be realized. Songs by songs were written. This came with hard work and full dedication. Yet the band still needed a name. Two names came up.  “Dancing Dolls” and “Dirty Dolls”. The later was chosen for it represents the kind of music the band plays to this very day, which is easy listening and romantic kind of SKA. Not too much later on, an offered to play in a show came by.  Dirty Dolls was very excited about this and went on the show. This was in 1997 and the event took place in Saparua, West Java.  And from then on, other offers came by and Dirty Dolls had finally got their big break.  In the beginning of 1998, the band was chosen to participate in a local record label compilation album.  This was their first recording experience. But the band also started to reform, due to some internal issues. After some reformations, the band is finally fully formed, as to which still solid to this very day. This took place in the year of 20015.

-Ijo: Trombone and Percussion
-Randy: Trumpet and Keyboard
- feinx : Trombone 
Dirty Dolls is not just here to play SKA, but they also have a mission and that is to have some contribution to the Community or the Scene.  Dirty Dolls is very dedicated to SKA and without help from their friends, none of this could have ever happened. With a long, enduring road to success, Dirty Dolls is still fighting to be given a chance to be heard of and not just locally, but hopefully, in a larger scale of the international music industry. Dirty Dolls is still struggling, despite all the fans that they have back home.  To them, SKA doesn’t stop here.  Every sleep has its dream, and every dream must come true.  To Dirty Dolls, MUSIC is a flower to which SKA is the honey.  It gives the band the courage to stay solid, it also strengthens the minds to be all set up and devoted to music. All these hard work will be rewarded some day.  And SKA will remain alive in every one of the members in Dirty Dolls.
