Dirty Epic presents its eighth episode of the Amplify Series podcasts, this time welcoming @dj-hyperactive aboard.

Chicago born and bred DJ and producer Joseph Manumaleuna aka DJ Hyperactive needs little introduction to those versed in the history of techno. As one of Daft Punk’s “Teachers” and “brother of the humble”, according to Resident Advisor, his contributions to the underground continue to span generations. Honing his skills in the highly influential scene and sound of Chicago in the early 90s, DJ Hyperactive gained instant international recognition and has since gone on to play the most legendary and lauded events and venues over the last 20 years, such as Orbit/ Leeds, Liquid Room/ Tokyo, Love Parade/ Berlin, Shelter, Smart Bar, Primary/ Chicago, Interface/ Los Angeles, Movement/ Detroit, Output/ Brooklyn, Tresor/ Berlin, Berghain/ Berlin and the list doesn’t stop there. 

Also over the course of his career, he has produced over 100 remixes and original tracks, including classics such as "Venus" on Missile, "Wide Open" on EC Records, "25 Hours" on Droid Recordings, "Music Box" on his own imprint 4 Track Records and "Chicago" (on Contact Records which he also ran, now defunct), plus releases on Truncate, Figure, Blank Code, Impact Mechanics, Nachstrom Schallplatten and CLR to name a few. 

He returned to Chicago 2013 to reconnect with his family and musical roots. His story continues with more gigs and more studio productions, with the difference being the experience and perspective that only a true veteran can possess.

By way of their Stroboscopic Artefacts imprint and earlier works Luca Mortellaro aka Lucy has always walked on the avante garde side of electronic music. Their own thought provoking productions and label output has always turned heads and like its owner’s sonic tendencies ranges from ambient soundscapes to forward thinking main room bangers and everything in between.

They may have changed up their look during lockdown but Lucy’s unwavering artistry has remained steadfastly. There is no doubt in our minds that the individuality that the Italian will continue to be at the very bedrock of everything they do. We're thrilled to anounce our second guest for vinculum podcast series. Ray Kajioka - a German Techno producer, DJ and Live Act since 1995. Best known for his works on Kanzleramt, most notably for his tunes "Spark" and "Thrill", which became huge hits and have been listed in many DJ charts since. 
Also, Kajioka is known for his release "Never Ending" on Cocoon Recordings, as well as remixes for Truncate, Joel Mull, Elbee Bad, Alexander Kowalski, Heiko Laux, Tom Hades, Housemeister, Victor Calderone, DJ T-1000 and more. A distinguishing and striking aspect of his music is certainly the warm spheric and impulsive sound, which is constantly present in all of his productions. Ray's live and DJ-performance encompasses all the elements of today's modern Techno and House music, but has its feet firmly planted in the roots of the Detroit-vibe. This is, undoubtedly, the best gift we can give you. Enjoy!
