Sacred Series #29: SILENT SOULS

After 32 beautiful stories through the years, our podcast channel is coming to an end this month! We want to thank all the artists that have shared music with us, listeners and dedicated followers. We are opening our live mixes series with journeys recorded live from our affiliate artists and friends from January 2024 on. 

As a perfect transition, our long time friend, Sonhan - co-founder of Metropolis event series in Brussels has gifted us with a very special recording of his opening session at the last Metropolis edition, right before Konduku and lunar convoy.

Housed within a vast concrete and marble hall with soaring 3-meter-high ceilings, located two levels below the former Federal Bank of Belgium, the space boasted a bunker-style aesthetic. The focus of this gathering was on creating an immersive experience that felt sealed off from the outside world.

As the session starts, the set evokes sensations of activating an ancient and mysterious machinery, its true technological nature shrouded in secrecy.

The narrative unfolds gradually, beginning with an intimate and emotionally charged atmosphere and then transites into an eerie and dissociative paths, setting the stage for the captivating and mind-altering experience that awaited the assembled crowd.

The sixth of the LDG Mix Series is experimental and ritualistic, hypnotic and abstract, and we feature Mike Parker, a master who has had a huge impact and influence on the techno scene for a long time.

Seoul-based artist SIOT is active in various clubs and festivals in Asia. He has been a resident of Seoul’s unique underground club VURT, and is currently is a resident of VOLNOST.
SIOT, an artist based in Seoul, expresses sounds through the freedom that emerges in the realm of infinite imagination, chaotic borderline between life and death, a sublime beauty in nature, and the mysterious realm which is created by the universe. He has been solving these factors of mixed border found during wandering through musical work.

Hypno Series #45: CLARENCE RISE

✈ To celebrate this new episode, we are proud and delighted to host such an iconic figure from the Berlin Techno scene : INLAND (Counterchange Recordings/Figure).

Known for his explorative techno and ambient productions, he’s released numerous EPs on his home label Counterchange, appeared on Ostgut Ton, Figure, Infrastructure, and released his debut LP on Ostgut Ton sub-label A-TON.

Working closely alongside US artist Function between 2014 and 2017, the pair released the comeback record for Function's Infrastructure label, with their now-legendary 'Odeon / Rhyl' EP and went on to compile the heavyweight 'Facticity' compilation, also teaming up on the soaring 'Colwyn Bay' in 2016. 

In 2020 Inland presented a 4 x 12'' box-set compilation and DJ mix entitled 'Stream State', featuring music from contemporaries like Efdemin, Peter Van Hoesen, Joel Mull, DJ Skull, Mark Broom and many more. This was closely followed by the full-length LP, 'Potential Current' (COUTER016), and 2 acclaimed EPs of up-temp, peak-time tracks in 2022, 'Namsan' and the BRETT offshoot label (BRETT001), igniting some of Davenport's most frenetic work to date.

Serkin es uno de los artistas de la escena Techno underground  que más destaca por su habilidad para mezclar música en clubes tanto dentro como fuera de nuestro país. Sus actuaciones en Nitsa, Tresor, Stardust o recientemente en Hor lo avalan como un imprescindible en nuestra escena actual.

Actualmente, promueve y reside en los eventos Volta y Technolo-G, este último en el club de moda en Barcelona, Red58. Es artífice del festival Celobert y forma parte de la agencia española dirigida por Pelacha; Stelar Booking. Además, en su faceta de productor, tiene lanzamientos en sellos como Redsonja, Solemne Records, Lessismore o su propia plataforma Tourian Records.

En esta ocasión, nos presenta un mix grabado en directo durante la semana del Sónar en Barcelona, haciendo el warm-up a The Hacker. Un mix especial bajo su alias 1985, donde explora terrenos más amigables y variados, con electro, IDM o breaks, ofreciendo un enfoque más abierto de lo habitual y donde se siente con más libertad a la hora de plantear el set.
