This week’s edition of the Local Selection Mix is a blistering hour of funky and hard techno from Meda. The young up and comer, keeps the foot on the gas from start to finish, delivering a pounding hour of grooves.

MEDA is a Lithuanian techno DJ influenced by old school rhythms and tempo. Her style and specialty in heavy grooves bring an exciting atmosphere to the dance floor.

MEDA has been attending techno nights in Dublin for many years now and has an extensive knowledge of techno, recently she decided to put this knowledge into the craft of DJing and releasing mixes. MEDA showcases the harder and tougher sides of techno, taking inspiration from acts such as Eric Sneo, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer & more.

Previous show’s with Hidden Love and various mixes on Soundcloud have showcased MEDA’s abilities behind the decks, combining quick and dynamic mixing styles to create an incessant groove.

MEDA’s guest mix for Four Four Mag comes ahead of her debut in The Cellar this Saturday. MEDA pulls out pure fast paced dance floor tools in this hour mix, taking inspiration from the 90’s and 00’s tribal techno. This one is a weapon, get stuck in.

Realize brings in alien chords and haunting elements, sending the track into an uncanny atmosphere. Luke's Anger is someone we've wanted to release for a long time. He's an act whose playful production style has been wiggling our ears for nearly 20 years, through releases on Don't, Uglyfunk, Sneaker Social Club, Tigerbeat 6, his own Bonus Round, and many more. Wearing various influences on his sleeve - Neil Landstrumm, Paul Johnson (RIP), Daniel Bell, DJ Hyperactive, Thomas Bangalter, Subhead, Jerome Hill - the "Rear Wiggle EP" is Luke's ode to bleep techno at its intersection with swinging '90s Chicago. But it's more than that too. Over 5 tracks he encompasses many elements that modern techno needs more of: shuffle, screaming riffs, phat pumping bass, FUNK, hypnotism, the list goes. Volster's sonic frame has been forming for a few years now and Secession002 opener is a pure example of his ongoing production concept. Right of the bat, "Croatian Steel"'s saturated kick and Volster's signature back lead are delivering extensive weight but the main agenda is soon revealed when the lead synth starts to wrinkle, pan and bend in almost madness like way. This process never stops until the end and it feels pretty much like an alarm state that went out of control. To put it simply, it's a heavy pounding chain reaction that can't stop. Nor it should for that matter
