So here goes my first tune for this year. I picked the project on which I worked on for more than 3 years now to finally release it.  I started this tune with very little knowledge and even now, I still have a hell lot to learn. But over the time I managed to make it sound the way I want it to. So prepare for some heavy war drums and a firework of exploding basslines and Synths!
Hanabi is Japanese and translates to "fireworks". I dedicate this track to my best friends new born son, to welcome him in a proper way. And what would make a better welcome than fireworks?

After one year, I worked on my first release again to see the progression I made. Now it´s more the way I wanted it to sound. Let me know which version you like better in the comment section.

My definition of a cop:
For me there is a difference between a police officer and a cop.
A police officer does his job properly, sticks to the rules and shows responsibility in his duty of protecting the people.
A cop is a corrupted soul who missuses the authority given to him to his own benefits and terrorizes the people by the use of inapropriate force and violence.
In the end most people, I think, will start focussing on only the negative results of a cops action and start blaming the whole institution that is called police.

I started this tune as a "techy roller" project but somehow it turned out to sound like something I can't even name or put into a subgenre - like something out of this world.
I've always been fascinated by reports of UFO sightings and people claiming they've been abducted by aliens. So I started shaping this tune in a way I imagined what an abduction would sound like if it had to be explained by music. A bit dreamy, a bit aggressive, a little spacy and robotic. Now here's the result!

I'ts been a while, but life is busy and time is rare. Still I'm trying to use the little amount of time given, to be musically productive. Yet, sometimes it feels like I'm falling behind. Seeing the people around you, achieving things you've been dreaming off can be motivating, but at the same time it can even push the feeling of never being able to get there. With this doubt and insecurity comes the wish of letting everything behind and to start all over.

I think a lot of people have been at this point. If you can relate, let me tell you something: Everything you have worked for to get where you are now would've been wasted, if you gave up on your dreams. There's a chance, that you won't achieve your goals, no matter how hard you try. But it's 100% sure that you won't achieve them, if you just quit. You've got to look at all the small achievements you made and all the experiences that came along on your journey. In the end, that's what you can be proud of, no matter how far you got!

This is my tribute to a song that has become an athem of the feminist movement over the last year. In my eyes, there are a lot of similarities in the struggle of women under a patriarchic system and the struggle of people who suffer under a racist system. The ongoing fight for equal rights, the systematic exclusion from certain jobs, being confronted with people who judge you by stereotypical prejudices... the list goes on and on. Therefore I consider myself a feminist, or at least a supporter of feminism. As, to me, racism and sexism share the same side of the same coin, I simply can't be against one, without being against the other.  

So this one goes out to all the females out there (this includes everyone considering themselves as such!), who can relate to the heavy, yet perfectly round up lyrics of what it's like, living in an unequal relationship. But also to everyone who does their best in standing up against a system that was made to keep them down, as well as to all those who may already have given up, or - even worse - lost the fight by paying for it with their lifes. 
I know, a copy can never keep up with the original, but I hope that you resonate with the vibe.

On that note I want to give my honest respect to every police officer out there, serving to protect the people from criminals. But with all the ammounts of cases of police brutality going on which, just recently climaxed in the murder of George Floyd causing riots all over the USA and protests all over the world, I felt like sharing my thoughts and emotions and set a proper statement with this tune.
