Robot Koch and BlankFor.ms team up for a new single release on Koch´s imprint Trees and Cyborgs.
"Migratory" is their 2nd collaboration track, following their successful first single "Subtle Ones".

Making use of BlankFor.ms signature degraded tape and synth sounds and Koch`s atmospheric and low-end heavy production, this pulsing hypnotic track combines detailed sound design with a contemplative mood and an uplifting feel that works equally well on the dancefloor as it does for headphone listening.

Both Robot Koch and BlankFor.ms have been busy this year so already, with upcoming artist projects, film and video game scores, and high-profile remixes for other artists.

Bio Robot Koch

Robot Koch is an award-winning artist/composer from Berlin, living in Los Angeles.
He has been steadily crafting an original sound that expertly combines a deep and cinematic atmosphere, emotional reflection, and forward-thinking production.
He remixed the likes of Max Richter, Rammstein, and Christian Löffler, collaborated with conductor Kristjan Järvi and the Nordic Pulse Orchestra, and played high-profile live shows at Coachella, Mutek, Sonar Festival, and Boiler Room.
Koch`s visual music lends itself to pictures and has been used on numerous TV Shows, Movie Trailers, Feature Films, and Ad campaigns over the last few years.
When he’s not pursuing his own artistic projects, Koch can be found working as a producer and writer for both indie and major artists worldwide, gaining gold and
Platinum records for his productions. 
He won several awards for his immersive Full Dome Live Show "Sphere" which sold out in Planetariums and Festivals worldwide and also won the German Music Composers Award in the category
'Best Composer Electronic Music’.
He has amassed over 75 million streams and garnered over half a million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Koch is currently working on a movie- and videogame score as well as on new artist projects


Bio BlankFor.ms

BlankFor.ms uses degraded tapes and analog synthesizers to create sounds meant more for the body than the mind. He has become a notable figure in the world of experimental/ambient music, garnering accolades, high-profile remixes, and 95k followers across social media. 

His performance videos on Instagram were pivotal in inspiring an entire genre of top-down musical documentation on social platforms. 

His samples have been used by thousands of artists, including a cameo in the recent Ethan Gruska/Bon Iver single "So Unimportant". 

Over the next year he has a massive "Artist Series" instrument coming out with one of the world's most popular VST makers, a feature video in Ableton's "One Thing" series, and a video game score with an award winning software publisher. 

His contributions can be heard on records by Micah Jasper, Kiefer (Stones Throw), Robot Koch (Trees and Cyborgs), and many others. He has provided remixes for The Cinematic Orchestra, Arthur Moon, and Para One. Tyler grew up in rural Wyoming.

“Upopo Sanke“ means “Let's sing a song" in the Ainu language. Umeko Ando (1932-2004) was one of the best-known artists of the Ainu, an indigenous, long-suppressed community in northern Japan. She sings their traditional songs together with Oki Kano on the Tonkori harp, who also recorded the album. The two are supported by members of the female vocal group Marewrew as well as Ainu percussionists, a string player and a male singer who provides rhythmic shouts and also throat singing. The call-and-response structure of many of the songs is performed with a mantric, hypnotic quality in a vocal style that is perhaps best described as elastic, relaxed and breathing. The lyrics praise the lush nature of the islands. They mention the deity Kamuy, who can appear in the form of animals such as bears or swordfish, and the singers repeatedly ask the audience to dance. Listening to this music can be a meditative experience. There seems to be a gentle smile in every note and syllable. This music softly hits the heart. 
“Upopo Sanke“ was recorded on a farm in Tokachi in the summer of 2003. We hear dogs barking, a distant thunderstorm and voices imitating animals. The liner notes that accompany the 2LP release gather the anecdotal memories of Umeko Ando and Oki Kano about the stories of the 14 songs.
 
Oki Kano is a musical ambassador of the Ainu culture who tours worldwide with his Oki Dub Ainu Band and also gives solo concerts, always playing the Tonkori, the five-stringed Ainu harp. 
The Ainu have suffered from the oppression of their culture and language by Japan, especially since the 18th and 19th centuries. Only recently, in 2008, were the Ainu officially recognized again as an indigenous people culturally independent of Japan. As a result of the marginalization, there are now only a few hundred native speakers of the Ainu language left, making it a particularly worthy object of preservation. This music would not exist if the Ainu had not maintained their culture in remote and secret communities against Japanese hegemony. Thanks to Oki Kano, Umeko Ando's interpretation of Ainu music has been recorded in great detail from within the community. "Upopo Sanke" is a treasure of the Ainu heritage. 

"Upopo Sanke" was mixed again in part by Oki Kano before being mastered and cut to vinyl by Kassian Troyer. The 2LP plays on 45rpm and it sounds fantastic. 

This album was the second album by Umeko Ando, the follow-up to "Ihunke", originally recorded in 2000 and also re-released in 2018 by Pingipung together with Oki Kano. The vinyl editions of "Ihunke" and also the 7’' single "Iuta Upopo" including an M.RUX remix have long been sold out. They will be made available again in the course of the release of "Upopo Sanke".

We are pleased to announce Slovenian youngster Pavlič's debut release on Moodfamily with a defiant four tracker. Under his previous moniker Paoli, Pavlič graced the music scene with a fresh breeze, introducing an unconventional vision on dance music.

Acoustic sounds and stripped down vocal samples form the essence of his work, while offbeat structures and grooves carry them to musical evocative footprint.

'Mika Communism' kicks off the EP as the soundtrack for a horrific wedding ceremony. Piano, violin, clarinets and synths create an eerie atmosphere, as they are carried on by a waddling groove gently paving the way for 'btob'. In that second track, Pavlič picks up the tempo, carelessly dropping in shy and precarious vocals, designed for intimate parties.

The second half of the EP brings the title track 'In Raise' which starts out offbeat, playfully combined with vocal cuts under the gentle cover of a modest synthesizer, only to build up blossom into a futuristic waltz.

'Slowly Movin' speaks for itself, this slow burner creeps behind the horizon with vocals and vocoders bringing tension as it were dubious clouds moving in while erratic synths glimmer like jagged mountain outlines in the distance.

In recent years, Russian independent scene has repeatedly shown that our country is rich in musical talent and real nuggets. Modern technologies allow to create, without leaving home, and sometimes without leaving the couch. Someone is limited to only the tip of the iceberg, and almost every day churning out the same type of backing tracks, but someone is trying to get the most out of these technologies and their music, "I". The latter can be safely attributed and producer from Siberia under the name King Shi. To work on their new full-length album "The Asian Wind", he spent more than a year, carefully polishing his sound and selecting the best of their own projects.
The album - a true example of downtempo-quality music from Russia, which is not ashamed to appear in front of and peers from the EU and the U.S. and western public before the election. It is worth noting that the release of "The Asian Wind" will be held on the European netlabel Dusted Wax Kingdom in the first half of July 2013. This well-balanced, high-quality and emotional music definitely deserves support and not get one in your circle of players.

Disa is the musical universe of Icelandic native Disa Jakobs. 
The music is driven by the cold, electronic production and Disas warm and ethereal vocals. Disas Music shares the qualities of her native country. It is cold yet compelling and you always sense an underlying risk of eruption. 

Disa is the solo project of singer and songwriter Disa Jakobs who left Reykjavik to live in Copenhagen and is now signed to Danish label Tigerspring. She has formerly played live with a wide range of known and unknown artists, and now the 25 year old is ready to release her own material as a solo artist.

Disa is about exploring and expanding the boundaries of pop music. She finds inspiration in the wild, Scandinavian nature but also in the likes of fellow contemporary and alternative artists Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Brian Eno and Fever Ray.
