Discantus Trio is a mexican experimental jazz fusion rock power trio, founded and directed by Edmar Soria. Their music is a sincretism of many music styles lke progressive rock, jazz fusion, funk, experimental rock, etc. Developing ambients, and narrative concepts  instead of traditional musical structures, Discantus Trio seeks to explore and experiment with sonic textures, non standard melodic and harmonic phrasing and fx processing not as a tool but as an auditive language itself.

Some awesome and excellent drummers had been playing, jamming and experimenting with Discantus Trio. The band officially  started with Edmar Soria in guitar and fx processing, master Erik Martinez in bass and master Keno Rivero in drums (DLD). Due to work issues Keno Rivero was not able to continue playing with the band and then master Adrian Mendez (ELT) got in to the Discantu´s journey. For about half year, master session drummer Art Coll (Phillya Project) replaced Adrian Mendez and he acomplished some great new ideas with the band. After that master Adrian Mendez got back to the band and he is the official current drum player.

All this drummers along with Erik Martinez had greatly helped to develop the style, the ideas and the direction of how Discantus Trio sounds right now, so I would like to show my respects and eternal thankful to them.
