San Francisco based record label Roam Recordings celebrates its 100th release with a compilation from beloved alumni and new artists offering original work spanning darker shades of disco, cosmic techno, psychedelic, and acid house. What started as a group of ravers in the mid 90s that roamed the countryside (mostly in the US, Canada, and Mexico) looking for parties has evolved under the direction of its boss Jason Peters into a record label featuring a diverse array of internationally known artists. The intent of the record label is to continue the journey in search of new sounds while honoring the past. The Roam 100 Compilation is a milestone in that journey. It has been arranged to be enjoyed from beginning to end and to be rifled through at will.

Ever get the feeling you’re being manipulated? Ever get the feeling you’re manipulating things? Somewhere between these two questions exists this seismic slab of dark post-disco drama from Leipzig duo @newhook: ‘Manipulation’. A track to make you consider the extents of how much you manipulate your environment and how much it manipulates you; ‘Manipulation’ first came to life in 2018. The same year Riotvan introduced the duo to the world on their ‘Familiar Faces’ VA collection. Four years, and various releases on the likes of Ombra and Live At Robert Johnson, later and the original version of ‘Manipulation’ has recently been released on Underground Pacific album ‘The Only Good Wave Is A New One’. But there’s more to story... Now redeveloped and reworked, ‘Manipulation’ has been manipulated into this epic club missile on Riotvan. Electrified and strident in its swagger, this new version maintains the duo’s sultry, provocative vocal but carries much more dancefloor weight. Every bit as sharp and to the point as the name 

New Hook suggests, it’s also been blessed with an equally forthright twist from dark disco don @cursesforever who brings a little added funk to the bassline, manipulating the already manipulated ‘Manipulation’ with his own unique flare. Now it’s time for your turn to manipulate it in the mix...

Premiere: Mijo - THXTASY (Moisees Remix) [Duro]

Ransom Note launches Pen Pals Volume 2: a collaborative compilation created in isolation. Since the Covid-19 lockdown began the music and events industry has been thrown into unchartered waters, leaving artists and online media in a financially vulnerable position, and with much more time on their hands. To help some of those artists, and provide Ransom Note with much-needed financial support, in April label reached out to some friends of the website with the challenge to make a track in collaboration with another producer, musician or vocalist, remotely. The result was ‘Pen Pals’, a compilation featuring 15 collaborations. Following the reception of the first release, label decided to embark on volume two, enlisting a fresh group of artists and musicians to take up the challenge. 40 artists stepped up to the plate and 19 tracks were produced culminating in a compilation spanning a vast musical breadth.
Profits from sales on Bandcamp’s Juneteenth (19/06/20) will be donated to Black Minds Matter UK.

It’s been a tough year for everyone, especially for the electronic music and artists in general, however, Madrid’s Logical Records have seized this opportunity to bring audiences something special and make important changes for the future.
Label bosses Mike Sacchetti and Ivan De La Rouch have decided to put together five magical tracks on what’s going to be the first V/A Vinyl/Digital Release from the imprint. “Meteors” is the name given to this story and it's where the main characters came together from different places around the globe to take us on a trip filled with dark hypnotic sounds and groovy beats.
Logical’s 72nd release counts with the contribution of well known faces in the electronic music contemporary scene such as: Mexican duo Zombies in Miami, Parisian artist La Mverte, Berlin-based music producers Local Suicide & Skelesys, Label bosses Mike & Ivan and Lyon’s heroes Cornelius Doctor & Tushen Raï.

With their label Correspondant, Jennifer Cardini has pursued a progressive dance sound with a far-flung group of established and upcoming artists. Since 2011, more than fifty EPs have been put out. At the beginning of 2017 Jennifer Cardini and her partner Noura Labbani will start a new label, Dischi Autunno. 
With Dischi Autunno, Cardini and Labbani will release rock, indie, ambient, prog and experimental music directed to the home listening experience. The label will publish solely albums which will be made available on LP, CD as well as digital with !K7 as distributor. The first catalogue number will be “Holy Ghost People” by Dutch artist Dollkraut.
Each record will have unique artwork created by UK visual artist, photographer & film maker Stevie Anderson. Exploring altered mind states with symbolic and metaphorical images Anderson will add a visual dimension to Dischi Autunno´s music.
