Halloween, an uncanny 13 years ago ~ New mixes are on the way, but in the meantime here's a fun oddity recently unearthed from a hard drive.
It was recorded 2009 in a bar called »Gulasch« that I liked a lot when I had just moved to Berlin. A dirty little beer-spilling, bolognese mouth-greasing, vodka-breathing universe.
Wanted to reach 666 minutes but got too wasted in the end with my buddy Simon Wald-Lasowski… It's got everything: Lots of hits, swish Traktor FX, hellishly tipsy mixing and shitty mp3s ~ Hope you enjoy x 👻🫠

'Over his decade-long career, London-born producer and DJ COHN has turned slow and steady into an art form. He’s released a slew of EPs, singles, and remixes on some of the biggest house music labels on the planet, including Kitsuné, Nervous and Ed Banger, and built a cult following as a DJ through his bi-monthly club night & label Butter & Wine. In 2023, he released his EP Wine and Reason, a 3-track project that pays homage to the artist’s house and disco roots while championing his own distinct sound. Through 2024 he released music on Hong Kong-based label Fauve Records before putting out his first vinyl release “Kafka in the Streets” on legendary Bordello last summer. COHN has an additional EP of darker club tracks coming out on Midnight People later in 2024.'

Brochure is a new collaboration between Gee Dee, Miles Felix, and Nick Stropko. For their debut release, they opted to cover Joking by Celine Lomez, originally featured in Soft Rock for Hard Times Vol. 7. Drenching the arrangement with synthesizers and opting to record the tune half-time, Brochure recontextualizes the song into a longing ballad.

Osprey 2 is the latest nom de guerre of @ryanmtodd aka Paul Atreides, Tom Guycot, Darklord Disco, half of Private Sea, founder of Going Home Records and an instrumental part of Universal Cave productions and parties for well over a decade. Osprey 2's Version Verrückt flips the longing ballad into a funky, driving krautrock number for Side B.

The @universalcave crew offers their Terrace Mix as a digital only bonus track. A stripped-down strummer for the summer, the Terrace mix is scenic overlook gear for the mind's eye.

Dunkeltier, aka Sneaker (@sneakerdj and @sneaker-edits), aka Gino Galan, aka Lupo in Bionda e Lupo (check their 716 Playlist and their upcoming EP « Die Kinder Aus Dem Park« ), aka Dérive with June (@june), aka Serial Error with Jacob Korn (@jacob-korn) & Credit 00 (@credit-00), aka another name to be found for his two projects coming with Scannoir (@scannoir) in 2018, aka many other names you might ignore…  has been here for a long time now in the underground « electro » music scene in the super wide meaning of the word. He released for numerous labels but has been particularly close of Uncanny Valley Records (@uncanny-valley-dresden), including its sublabel Rat Life Records, and Frigio Records (@frigio-records) run by our friend Juanpablo (check his 716 Mix).
Sneakers contribution is the reenactment of his long prepared mix of Russian (Italo) Disco and Post Punk for the Friday afternoon slot at the Camp Cosmic festival 2017. For those who don’t know it yet – CC is THE event for disco diggers in Europe since 2011 - invented by Albion (@big-muffle) in Sweden and now co-hosted by Spacelex (@spacelex) and a bunch of underground supporters from Dresden and Berlin.
