Parental Guidance is Civillian's first foyer into the world of mixing live bands who are playing real instruments, a terrifying thought for many DJ's. With the common thread of real, live music - you can still expect Civillian's signature variety with selections ranging from Aretha Franklin covering the everyone's favourite The Band song "The Weight", to Waylon Jenning's penultimate driving tune "Ramblin' Fever".

Heavily inspired by pioneering efforts in that realm like Smalltown DJ's "Camping Mix", and DJ Ali B "Plays the Blues", this recording was going to be no usual undertaking for Civillian. After 2+ years of focused digging, nearly a year of practicing technique, and a 2 week artist residency in a van down by the river for the final recording stage, it is ready for the open air and the open road.

Sunday Morning at Tall Tree 2017 I was asked to fill in on a set for an artist who couldn't make it, so I obviously said yes!!! Therefore this set was completely on the fly, and mannnnnnnn is it funky! I randomly came across this the other day on my computer and it turned out pretty dope! Hope ya dig it!

Impromptu Sunday Morning Set at Tall Tree 2017

Earlier this summer, I was invited to play the dance party portion of a buddy's wedding.  The theme was Rock N Roll, but they also wanted dirty beats and basslines.  I was presented with the exciting challenge of combining the two for all the beautiful party people to dance to. My live set was totally freestyle, and it was very well received.  Since everyone enjoyed it so much, I decided to plan and record it a couple weeks later. This is my most eclectic mix to date.  Blues, Rock, Ghetto Funk, Electro Swing, Rock, House, Breakbeats, and even more Rock!

This is my set recorded live from the legendary Michepalooza Party 2018 in Squaw Valley!  Huge shout out to Rambo Party Productions and Mich for hosting and being born! I recently had the pleasure of Dj'ing my friend Jay and Meg's wedding and was tasked with coming up with something that EVERYONE of all ages, shapes and sizes could connect to and get down to on the dance floor.
