A collector of italo and other related genres, I’m constantly digging for sounds old and new to insert into my mixes. I try to make as many good quality mixes as possible because I want people to hear all these great songs. I currently have a DJ residence in my home studio as well as various living rooms around the LA area. Antonio Lubrano, a seasoned radio sound engineer who embarked on his musical journey at the young age of 15 and became a resident DJ at prominent city clubs by the age of 18, has consistently harbored a passion for diverse non-commercial music. His DJ sets reflect a deliberate effort to introduce lesser-known sounds, injecting an element of unpredictability. Renowned as a "vinyl enthusiast" within the industry, Antonio has, in recent years, delved into the world of collecting rare records, sourcing gems from the Italian and European underground scenes spanning the 70s, 80s, and even the 90s—acquiring them through both online platforms and eclectic flea markets.

In 2022 Antonio, alongside collaborator Daniele Giustra, proudly co-founded "Disco Tic." This innovative project showcases the art of back-to-back performances exclusively on vinyl, with a focus on 45s featuring the distinctive Italo-disco sound. The duo has given life to a vibrant SoundCloud channel under the same name, featuring meticulously curated mixtapes crafted by DJs and selectors from across the globe. This platform serves as a testament to their commitment to promoting and preserving the rich legacy of underground music.

In the mid 90's, when the underground techno virus infected Barcelona, Imperator was injected with poison.
He started partying at clubs, afters and free parties and once he bought his first records, he didn't stop.
He couldn't. Till now.

Linked to some of the most memorable (and crazy) tribes and collectives of that time, he was everywhere, becoming a kind of "enfant terrible" of the scene whatever was mixing, dancing or just listening.
After two decades, his eclectic collection of vinyls remains as effective as ever, shooting hits and rare anthems of cosmic, wave, electro, acid dreams or italo-disco. His sets are like an unpredictable jukebox, always energetic, bizarre and physical. If you let him spin the first record, you're lost.

Captain & me have a pretty funny connection as I started my first disco al dente mix with 2 wonderful edits from him and we didn't know each other back then. I'm all the more pleased that Captain is now on board and will continue to keep the disco al dente express rolling.
