While Iner's Dobro label has released a number of full-length projects, the majority have been compilations. This, then - a debut LP from Russian producer Stogov, known primarily for blending deep house and jazz in different ways - is a significant release for DOBRO. It's also rather good. Stogov begins by peppering a thickset deep house groove with attractive female vocalisations and fluid jazz guitars ('Imagine'), before opting for loose-limbed jazz breaks, bouncy house beats and Todd Edwards style sample cut-ups on 'Smooth Turn'. Deeper, drowsier and more garage-house leaning vibes are the order of the day on 'Everybody', 'Y're Free' is a classic-sounding slab of thickset US deep house headiness, 'Comeback' is woozy, skippy and delightful, and closing cut 'Shine' sounds like a tooled-up take on 'Boulevard'-era St Germain.

Skogsberg & Akdogan's story goes back to the early 2000s. They first started out as DJs, spinning records, but for many years now they have been producing their own music. Their work is mainly characterized by a groovy atmosphere, enriched with house elements, always putting dynamics and energy in the spotlight.

In recent years, they have released tracks on prestigious labels such as Sony Music, Let There Be House and Whore House. They have already introduced themselves to House Heads with their single Don't Wanna Be Alone, and now they are back with the follow-up.

Once again, there is no shortage of drive and energy.
