At BLD, we like to think we know our stuff, so we're delighted to bring you the second episode of Killer Boogie (which melted the airwaves of myhouseradio.fm)

De Gama brings back his new project with Black Light Disco for its second outing, and for this one he has brought in the supremely talented DJ, producer and all round genius, LTJ X-perience. 

De Gama will be kicking the first hour off in style - laying down the law and taking no prisoners. There’s a lot packed into this hour, with tracks from The Reflex, Paul Older, Lego Edit plus many more (including one from the main man himself, LTJ.)

And in hour 2, De Gama hands over to that main man, LTJ X-perience - aka Luca ‘LTJ’ Trevisi, aka LTJ Edits. LTJ trained as a DJ producer at the end of the 80s. Resident first at the Kinki Club in Bologna and then at the Cap Creus in Imola, he is one of the first Italian DJs to produce House music and his style weaves intricate webs of jazz grooves, Latinbossa and classic tracks from the 70s which, over time have paved the way for Acid Jazz and Rare Grooves. Tracks such as “I Don't Want This Groove To Ever End” (2012), “Ain't Nothing But A Groove” (2013), “ Don't Let The System Get You Down” (2015) and “Beggar Groove” (2017) highlight LTJ's more funk and groovy side.

Killer Boogie #02 De Gama & Special Guest LTJ X-perience

We're joined on the platform this week by one of the most prominent and recognisable labels in the Nu-Disco scene today, Tropical Disco Records.

Responsible for a prolific amount of music over the last 6 to 7 years, the label has gone from strength to strength under the guidance of label co-bosses Moodena and Sartorial. You'll find them out and about at their residency at Number 90 in Hackney Wick, London as well headlining with the legend that is Grant Nelson in Leeds in early June 2023.

Moodena & Sartorial deliver us a label takeover for hour 2 of the show, with a front to back tracklist of both released, unreleased and forthcoming material from the label.

What a special treat this show was! First up on hosting duties we had an original Disco Walton, Ken Avalon of Discoholics Anonymous @discoanon. Ken is a well respected DJ/producer and  radio host from Denmark. He has a huge following and his successful long running show, Hot to the Touch, on Prime Radio helped inspire the some fellow DWs to start their own shows. Ken has impeccable taste combining old & new and every mix is a journey & educational.

Our very special guest this week is Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic. We're all massive fans of Delfonic and we're super excited to have him join us on our show. Based in Berlin, Delfonic runs Illegal Jazz Records alongside Toy Tonics honcho, Kapote  as well as A&R/ Label Manager at wordandsound/whatpeopleplay.

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Delfonic, is as versatile and informed a DJ as they come. Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. His set for us is pure class, you'll love it!

And Greg was joined this week by special guest and NDC Radio legend, DJ Moll. In a career spanning over 20 years, Moll has held down residencies within bars and clubs across the North East of England. He has DJ’d in Portugal, Cyprus and Holland and has been signed to play in Ibiza this year. 

DJ Moll hosts the ‘House On Fire’ show every Saturday on NDC Radio covering all different genres of House music, mixing new tunes with some classics.

Hot To The Touch 050523 with Discoholic Ken & The Secret Soul Society on Prime Radio

The Black Light Disco made a triumphant return to the My House Radio airwaves  - gerrymandering the musical boundaries of Funk Town and challenging the very fabric of space and time. 

For this week’s show our residents Goz and Esteban were back in the saddle here at BLD Towers. Literally - they’ve been testing out the new Mechanical Bull we’ve just had installed in the new ‘Rodeo ’n Rumpus Bowling Alley’ on the 30th floor (converted from the ‘Eurovision village experience’ which went down well last week). 

First up for this jamboree is Goz, who has packed his sonic sack with tunes from Cody Currie, Alexny, Scruscu, Henry Greenwood and Hotmood. Also featured are tracks from the latest Imfromull LP (which is outstanding, pop pickers!)Summer beckons with this one! 

For the second hour, Esteban unleashed an almost experimental mid-tempo affair featuring lots of new stuff from Parisian Soul, Lup Ino, Fingerman, JB Boogie, Chamba and Afro Image Band. Also dropped in for good measure are some tracks from the forthcoming Tropical Disco Spring Jamz Vol. 1 long player.
