Here we have our first real premiere, Rob Castillo is rooted somewhere in-between Electro and Nu-Disco. His sound is generally analog and spicy, with an expressed hunger for the slightly crackling, like pure static surplus energy. He is playful, and moves in a different path than the others. That's always refreshing!

The debut vinyl release from See-Saw, featuring four disco infused flavours for your listening pleasure.
First up at the A1 spot is Doin' My Thang by Gledd, a full-on funk phenomenon of catchy guitar licks, brass and strings straight out of Studio 54! This is a floor filler in the making and one to watch this springtime.
Following this is Everybody On The Floor by Monsieur Van Pratt, a pounding disco belter with an irrepressible vocal hook and a beat that'll have the crowd clapping their hands faster than you can say smoke machine.
Flipping over onto the B side, at the B1 spot is You're The One by Saint Paul. If the groove on this sucker doesn't drag you onto the dance floor, the disco vocals and monumental riffs will!
Finally, at the B2 spot is Day Old Data by Castle Queenside. Guitar riffs, EP licks, epic key changes and a bassline that'll get any party moving, Day Old Data is the perfect end to this debut release and a worthy addition to any DJs secret weapons.

It's been a long time between drinks for Oliver Dexx. According to our records, this Slightly Transformed label debut marks the producer's first solo outing in almost 18 months. It's well worth picking up, if only for the down-low, Clavinet-fuelled strut of sweaty, funk-fuelled opener "The Get Down", which is the nearest thing to an instant party-starter we've heard this week. That said, there's plenty more to set the pulse racing elsewhere across the EP, from the pitched-up, soulful disco-house sweetness of "Do For Love", to the tidily beefed-up Brazilian disco-funk re-edit "Copacabana", via the rolling grooves, jazzy guitars and swirling vocal samples of "Do You Believe".

A single-track release here from Castle Queenside, a San Diego duo who've been producing "raw disco and underground house" for just under a decade now. 'Sherman Heights' is an extremely simple affair, with a (presumably sampled) guitar riff looping incessantly over crunchy, unhurried house beats while a male voice invites us periodically to "dance with me, dance with me". There are some strings as well, but this is definitely the sort of record you reach for to keep 'em moving, not to drag 'em onto the floor. All DJs need those tunes in their arsenal, though, and this one'll do the job as well as any other!
