Inspired by Milan’s Brera district, historical hub of art and design, Tamati reworks some tunes from iconic female Italian singers of the late 1970s. This EP captures the essence of the groove and bass-heavy sounds that defined the golden era of disco and funk, reimagined for today’s dancefloors. The tracks transport listeners back to the glamour and vibrant vibe of “Milano da Bere”. New York based D.C. LaRue has been recording and performing since 1974 but it was his track “Cathedrals” in ’76 that really got him noticed amongst the heavy weight disco releases of the time.  The double A-side 12" single of "Cathedrals" was one of the earliest commercially available 12" singles and went on to hit number 1 on the Billboard Dance Music Club and Disco Single charts.

Subsequent singles “Overture” and “Indiscreet” both topped out at number 2 on the Billboard Dance Music Club charts and “Indiscreet” became an influential track in the hip hop sampling world.

Fast forward to the present day and armed with digital transfers of the original master tapes, Z Records has commissioned remixes of these classic tracks plus “Let Them Dance” and “Do You Want The Real Thing”.

Released over two limited edition picture sleeve 12’s pressed exclusively for Record Store Day 2018, the remixes come from Idjut Boys, Ron Basejam, Dr Packer, Folamour, JKriv and Joey Negro.

Brasilian DJ and producer Rafael Cancian delivers a veritable United Nations of diverse international disco flavor for his first outing on Razor-N-Tape. The A side delivers cheeky horns and gyrating synths with Ç'est La Douceur, followed by a flurry of string stabs and vocal fourishes with theI Italo-tinged Fascino Di Milano. 

On the flip we get a taste of Rafa’s native Brasilian boogie with the stomping Frágil, and the EP winds down with the sensual slow groover Besos Libres. This is a 4-tracker of serious heat representing all four romance languages…perfect for romancing, and dancing!
