For the next instalment in the Radiobar mix series we would like to introduce and welcome the latest family member to Discobar: Darren Allen.

It was during a sweet end of summer before Club Der Visionaere closed for the season that we met Darren personally and also heard his technique and skills behind the decks which this podcast shows.

Founder of Underlying Form – a community, party and, since his debut release, record label – Darren Allen is a key figure in an international network of uncompromisingly underground minimal house and techno nights and DJs.

Set to release the next EP on the label DISCOBAR, we are very proud to have him present this unique session for our podcast series.

With spring just around the corner, the Discobar team is proud to introduce the newest edition to the Radiobar series and a good friend to the Discobar team, the talented DJ, Topper. 

Having witnessed his skills first hand during the long summer sessions at CDV it became apparent that not only was Topper a talented DJ behind the decks, but also his production skills were making waves amongst those in the know and beyond, most notably releases by his own label DEAD RAIL – something certainly worth checking out if you haven’t already…

It was on a pleasantly warm summer night in Cairo that Zeina’s seamless style behind the decks caught the attention of the Discobar team while enchanting the crowd, setting revellers up for a night of good vibes and musical magic. Its moments like this, which really make everything make sense on the dance floor. 

Warm, open and grounded her values reflect the expressive and creative person she is, and talented DJ/producer she has become. Her un-wavering commitment to establish a sense of community through music has roots in her constant traveling, having lived across the world, including Canada, Cairo and Berlin. 

Currently living between Cairo and Berlin, her event series ‘Unfamiliar’ celebrates the coolest up-and-coming female electronic music artists, and provides a platform for them to explore playing in constant new locations. If you haven’t already, go check out this project for yourself..

Discobar re-launches in search of other galaxies with its second outing from Toulouse- based duo Zendid.
They take us on three voyages through the minimal-infused house grooves they made their name with, while still finding time to bring in Maayan Nidam for a remix. 'Space' has us seeing stars right from the start, with an alien menagerie conversing over a strict-form beat. The bassline on 'Virgin Virgin' is big enough to give you butterflies, tempered by stellar synths and wordless vocal clips.
'Berlin 6' takes the bass for a lighter walk and finally, Maayan Nidam remixes 'Space' into a nebulous and reflective place, pads breaking through the thick atmosphere mid-track for a moment of zero gravity meditation.

The next guest to the Radiobar series needs little introduction. 
Robert Johnson resident and all-time maestro, we bring you Max Best. Having joined forces with Lamache for Discobar’s debut at the infamous Offenbach institution, his eclectic combinations of house and techno are consistently delivered with seamless class that make movements on the dancefloor.

Alongside his residency, Max manages his own label: Blank Slate which is locally based in Frankfurt and definitely one to check out if you haven’t already.

The label has taken an experimental approach to the release. Fusing artists operating in different realms of dance music enables space for both innovation and risk. 
Presenting artists with a palate of sounds outside of their common circuit catalyses forward thinking production. The merging of styles within these collaborative efforts generates artful sub genres which may never transpire without bold moves similar to this release.

Discobar is very proud to welcome the talented French & young artist Cez for its 11th release with a two tracker minimal EP. 
On the A-side, "Street Of Sao Paulo", filled with trippy sounds and a rolling bassline accompanied by distant vocals.
B-side, Cez presents us "Girls From The Woods", filled with tight drums and intricate broken structure.

It was in a warehouse in the middle of São Paulo that Tati Pimont caught the attention of the Discobar team; bright energy, a nice selection and flow. 
Nowadays, Tati is truly someone that represents the techno scene in Brazil. She's been one of the residents of the excellent party Subdivisions but also playing some really nice gigs & festivals in Brazil. 
Currently living in São Paulo, her event series ‘TR3VO’ celebrates the coolest up-and-coming electronic music artists.

A South American talent to keep on eye on closely — dear Tati.

It has been a few years that Discobar is well connected with the beautiful city Lisbon.
Berllioz is one of the first people we've met over there — he is one of the local heroes from Lisbon’s underground house and techno scene.

While Discobar had a stage at the Lisboa Electronica Festival, Berllioz was playing one of his live set before Raresh — quite impressive that day! 

A good soul and a complete artist, he has been collecting records for a while now and stacking machines and modulars in his studio — we are pleased to introduce you to Berllioz.
