STGZ001 Discobasis - Said the Light

For the first release on Stock Grazing, Ngunnawal/Canberra-based sound designer, Discobasis, crafts an impressive collection of deep-listening tracks for his debut along with a feature from multidisciplinary artist, umki.

Drawing influence from muggy ambient and dub tones, Said the Light seeks further hypnosis, descending into abyssal depths. Across each sombre soundscape, Discobasis carefully weaves organic textures with sharp glitches. Despite their apparent discord, these elements intertwine and dance with an eerie harmony, luring listeners into the uncharted. The fractured rhythms force a desultory march, each kick demanding attention as it grates against the senses. It’s a visceral experience, where tension rises and lingers, offering subtle rewards to those willing to lean in.
