Reverso 68 (the studio based project of Pete Herbert and Phil Mison) kick 2011 off with a limited edition compilation of some of their favourite forgotten Balearic / disco tracks, as well as a host of previously unreleased Reverso productions. Tracks have been lovingly re-tweaked and dubbed for the dancefloor, and road tested over the last few years in their DJ sets. . Great reactions so far from the likes of Faze Action, Dj Language, Richard Dorfmeister, Disco Bloodbath, Horse Meat Disco, Bill Brewster, Sancho Panza, Sonica FM, Dicky Trisco, Baby G, Rainer Truby to name but a few.

Nie Wieder Schlafen returns with a long overdue comeback and brings back the notorious belgium live artist Varaz with a premium vinyl release in a heartfelt tribute to a dear friend, whose memory inspired the creation of this beautiful work of art.

Varaz gently leads the A side with 2 ambient affairs to build the base of the textured and mindful sounds that is incorporated in this white marbled wax.

The EP's first two tracks, "Agora" and "All I Hear," are sophisticated and textured ambient soundscapes that invite the listener into a contemplative and introspective state. Varaz's deft touch blends ethereal tones with intricate soundscapes, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

"Perfume," the third track, is a deep house groover with a sublime bassline rhythm that leads the melody. Gently whispered vocals call out the titular scent, adding an air of mystery and allure to the track.

The B-side of the EP is equally captivating. "Cloud9" is a dreamy and eclectic story that excites with long-lasting pad hits, crisp percussion, and intricate details in the background. The final track, "5tuck in a Loop," is a fun and rolling dancefloor tune with a retro synthy vibe that will leave the listener grooving.

Nie Wieder Schlafen is proud to release this beautiful tribute on a physical medium. We hope it's nuanced soundscapes and intricate melodies will transport the listener to a place of emotional resonance.

Varaz - Perfume

Bangla: Magadhan language spoken by the Bengali people; the official language of Bangladesh. 

Bangla: The new release on Discobelle Records from prodigious sewer dwellers Teenage Mutants, stuffed with jacking drums and some obese basslines that would put a crowd of Texan buffet goers to absolute shame. 

Things heat up with title track "Bangla", whose spicy vocal sample is slightly reminiscent of Homework's employment of exuberant yelling from Fissa Tune, the kind of tune that makes you wish you could learn to speak a different language, or at least speak in tongues. Everything stops midtrack for a meditative folk ragaa breakdown, but it doesn't last long, as the track culminates in a sporatic fusion of multicultural colors and lights that will have you reaching for the lasers dancing around on the ceiling no matter where you are. 

The second original track on the EP "Enfants" comes on strong with eardrum punching drums and a rising and falling snyth line that eventually punctures some kind of time / space barrier and goes hurdling through the Universe with a ton of uncontrollable elemental energy radiating off it as it goes careening in and out of vortexes. Maybe the name "Enfants" refers to that gigantic floating baby at the end of "2001: A Space Oddysey"? 

The Coconut Wireless revamp "Bangla" into one of my favorite tech house shotgun blasts of the year, letting the whole thing ride unhinged on the sitar strings, perfectly placed bongo drums and perfectly mixed in handclaps while the cry of "Bangla!" acts as an unexpected punctuation mark to an otherwise unstoppably grooving track, feeling like the unofficial sequel to Disco Dancer's 80's Bollywood dance fusion output. 

Lars Moston adds a hard industrial sheen to Bangla's organic sound, complete with big warehouse buildups and releases, as if he's coated the original in a couple layers of sheet metal. 

Finally, Slap In The Bass inject a nasty, rollicking bassline into "Bangla" then ride it through the back alleys of the Rajshahi Division, adding in some wood block percussion and two hundred percent more elephant noises. If you're able to stand still while listening to it, you're absolutely not human.
