Russian DJ and producer @zakir_a marks his return to @discohalalwith new single "Calling Your Mind", out on Friday 9th April.

Channeling a dark, brooding 80s synth vibe, ‘Calling Your Mind’ pairs driving pads with the warped vocals of Alex Ronin. The package also features an intensity-heightening remix from French duo You Man, a trippy, dubbed-out "Disco Halal Mix".

Starting his career back in 2003, Zakir has since released music on labels such as Sublimation Records, UnderGroovy Productions and Trampoliner. He debuted on Disco Halal last year with "La Roulette", released as part of their "Singles Club", which became one of the top selling Beatport indie dance tracks of 2020.

Encompassing elements of downtempo, new-wave and alternative pop, stitched together with a leftfield dancefloor throb, the Disco Halal back-catalogue, filled with efforts from the likes of Simple Symmetry, The Organism and Moscoman himself, has seen the imprint rapidly emerging from the once-overlooked nightlife and club scene of Tel Aviv into the worldwide spectrum.  Zakir’s triumphant return to Disco Halal sees the Russian production talent drop another stellar single.

Martin Herrs signature avant-garde percussive sound joins forces with the organic-electronic experimentations of emerging artist Thimble, resulting in an EP that’s ready for dancing, bringing mobilee back to the nachtclub as doors are opening for ravers worldwide.

Tribal, booming beats set the scene for this dark journey through modulating, layered sounds, broken beats, and warped vocals; the listener is transported to a post apocalyptic industrial dance floor, where sweet glimpses of “Humalogy” remain…

In “Betta Tester”, we find a rolling groove alongside undulating synths, sure to capture the limbs in movement, leaving the mind free to enjoy the many subtleties of this track - perfectly timed for transcendental club moments.

We discovered this song through an instagram story of good friend, Belgrade's famous @kristijanmolnar and got immediately engaged to the sound and the vocal. Following the thread we found the artist behind Buba @milos-bulajic from Montenegro and agreed on to release this gem the proper way.

Neo-progressive rock / jazz fusion band EAST was a collective of open minded and talented musicians in the late 70's and 80's. Although the iron curtain and the peculiar heritage of socialist era in Eastern Europe they were able to tour around the world, and also put timeless and special records on the table.

“Agymosas” means “Brainwash” simply: the lyrics from 1983 sounds valid about the effect and power of marketing, especially when we think of the meta period which knocks on our doors already.

Premiere: The Organism - Gypsy (Tim Engelhardt Remix) [Eleatics Records]

The 15th instalment of Diynamic Music’s “Four To The Floor” series is here. By now they have become a go-to resource for DJs looking for dancefloor-oriented music as all tracks of the series have been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world, hence being great assets for peak time sets.
Opening the release is Dino Lenny’s “I Lost Appetite”, which is inspired by the classic 80’s track “Flying Turns” from Crash Course in Science. The band gave their approval of Lenny’s production and are credited as co-writers to this nostalgic chaser. Following up is Hamburg-bred Doctor Dru, with his similarly eerie and 80s enthused “Kloeppel”, a deep dark disco house track.
The second half of the record begins with “Roast” by The Organism, a very synth heavy melodic techno tune that slowly builds a dark retro ambience with almost mathematical precision. And finally “1991” by Berlin-based Budakid, whose dreamy house pads give this edition of the FTTF series a very round finish.

Exclusive Time To Sleep - Lungo Mare

Named after one of Croatia's most beautiful coastal prominades Pula-based artist Time To Sleep makes his Disco Halal Singles Club debut with Lungo Mare. The take captures some of the artist's musical influences and comes with a rather funky almost rock-ish bass line, which is enriched with a bleeping lead synth that in the course of the track is groomed with a glitch adding even more raw- and edginess to it. It's those little details that Time To Sleep prepared Lungo Mare with that keeps the listener hooked to the track and making it sound intriguing. But in all the aforementioned roughness Time To Sleep's approach has beauty shining through and possibly describing the twelve kilometer lasting path Lungo Mare, when having overcome as well as to take on some burden before rewarded with beautiful sundowners and views over Adriatic Sea.

Time To Sleep's single Lungo Mare will be released on Disco Halal Singles Club on May 1st, 2020.

And in the near future a lot of new things await him.
