Shaken, not stirred, and always sounding best when liberally splashed upside the ravey, Gravy has enjoyed an astronomical rise over the last few years on labels such as theBasement Discos, Step Back Trax and his own Gravy Trax. Fresh from his debut album release 'X To Love', the South African-rooted/Vienna-raised artist makes his debut on Pets with 'Motion 7'.

Bounding across some of the sturdiest pillars in this music, across four tracks Gravy lays down a history lesson of supreme groove proportions. 'Relief' sets the euphoric tone with its emotional bicep-flexing chords, springy breaks and that essential floating-in-space sensation synonymous with the early 90s. It rolls deep in the best company: 'Motion 7' pays homage to house music's sexiest quarters with a strong Chicago jack and a velvet French filtered touch while 'Forever' touches down in Detroit with its iced out synth strings and a relentless bassline.

Finally we're pushed over the edge by 'Pushin'. A bubbling slab of disco house with all the right vocals and orchestration, it's an emotional end-of-night moment-in-waiting. Push the boat out and spread liberally - Gravy is every bit as tasty as his name suggests

As Viennese producer Mannix gets set to release his exciting debut album this Autumn, he drops a groovy taster single, 'Memories Of The Past’, featuring fellow Austrian vocalist, Fiona Barbier. Mannix furnishes the track with a classy Discofied vibe, peppered with sweeping strings that glide over a funky bass hook, as Fiona delivers a heartfelt vocal performance reflecting on a past love. Bringing an Italian flavour to the package, Disco House maestro Da Lukas amps up the funkiness with a suave foot stomping groover; and Napoli’s Andrea Curato takes things deeper, amplifying the melancholy of the song with a warm percussive deep bass affair, teased with sublime keys.

Mannix has been one of Vienna’s most prominent house music pioneers since he first started DJing back in the early 90’s. in 1999 he formed Whipped Creem together with DJ Krismas and DJ Wax. Since then Mannix went on to be a producer, promoter and music journalist, releasing tracks on AM:PM, Go Beat, Generate Music, Soundmen On Wax, Polydor and V2. Later, Mannix and Wax formed a new funky house project Double Jackpot and together also presented the successful radio show 'Crystal Radio' on 98.3 Superfly FM. Fast forward to 2012 Mannix started working on solo material alongside long time studio mate, Albert Koler. His notable releases in recent times include his remixes for Mousse T.'s 'Maybe In May' (Peppermint Jam), Arnold Jarvis' 'Rising Into Joy' (Black Vinyl) or Luisen & Vennessa Jackson's 'Push Through' on Midnight Riot. He’s also released on Tropical Disco, Re-Loved, See-Saw, Slightly Transformed and Love Harder. 2021 saw the launch of Mannix's own new label DAFIA Records, an outlet for his own productions which has so far featured collaborations with Lee Wilson, Dina Vass, Roldy Cezaire, Andre Espeut and Jaidene Veda.
