As we draw closer to darker months, we present darker music. For September's edition of the EXE Mix Series, we present two of Birmingham Technoid-Industrialists. 

Cult of the Black Noise is Defunkt Dialekt and Subcitizen. Two stalwarts of Birmingham's electronic underground scene for the past 20 years. Born of the fire of the likes of House of God and Atomic Jam, but also much more experimental realms, after many years this has finally culminated in a joint project delivering Birmingham sound techno with a heavy dose of IDM sensibilities. 

After becoming instant pals the two have constantly shared a quest for noise and experimental-ism, through working record shops, distributors, countless gigs and support slots to innumerate fellow noise makers, and striving to push their sound to any and all uncharted territory. Steeped in the heritage of making an impact to Birmingham's sound waves, they aim for a masterclass in the sounds and textures of the city.
