Originally from Marseille, with enormous talent and a career at its best, Hemka arrives at ANAØH presenting Naboris, an EP that shows her most groovy, forceful and classic side.

Clear, blunt techno with a real sound, refined,  hypnotic,  dance music. Clean but overwhelming kicks, tom structures that support the load of low frequencies, as well as fine and complex melodic lines, all this accompanied by classic hats and rides, noisy, direct, PURE TNT!

There was only one way to round off the release, to make it a perfect and timeless piece of techno.
A remix with the elegance that only someone like the Dutch Tripeo could deliver. Giving a logical continuity to the release, He has worked on a remix in a classic, forceful and elegant musical line, at times romancing the wonderful Detroit sound, but with touches of the future. Percussions of the TR909 make us think that nothing else is necessary to breathe techno in its most pure!

guese Cisco discovered Acid House in the London clubs he frequented, his journey has been about making his mark on the electronic music scene. Or, as he recently put it himself: “I’ve been doing this for quite a few years and I’m not going anywhere.” This sums it up pretty well; you won’t see Ferreira naked, shooting promo videos carrying a dog, or hear him publically worrying about the sincerity of the average EDM jockey. He’s everything about techno you’ve learned to love, without the circus you’ve learned to accept. Fresh out of college, Cisco’s hunger for sound landed him a job as assistant sound-engineer in several recording studios. There he learned about the art of translating feelings to frequencies, while at the same time recording various high prole artists from the world of Rock, Pop, Dance, and Reggae. When acid label ‘Jack Trax’ moved in next-door, Cisco started recording for the likes of Adonis, Fingers Inc, Marshall Jeerson, and Derrick May. These rendezvous sparked the inspiration for his rst EPs on R&S and Fragile. In 1994 Ferreira signed a record deal for 12 EPs and 3 albums together with Colin McBean. This was the beginning of an era during which the duo set a worldwide standard for high quality underground Electro and Techno. They hit the world with a refreshing sound, both as The Advent, and ‘G Flame (Cisco) and Mr G’, the alias Colin is still using. Nowadays The Advent is a solo project, bombarding crowds around the world with its trademark raw, energetic sound.

Cisco was originally meant to play for us in August 2021 but Covid put a stop to that; thankfully we were able to fulfil our goal of having him to play for us and it couldn't have gone any better in our honest opinion.

With releases on the likes of Blueprint, Mote-Evolver, and his own lauded self-titled imprint, Truncate, aka David Flores, has become renowned for high quality, groove-based techno over the last ten years. Regularly playing at techno institutions such as Movement Festival, Awakenings, fabric, Berghain and many more, Truncate’s jacking DJ sets and productions have won him an army of electronic music fans.

Arriving on Chris Liebing’s CLR imprint, the LA-based artist delivers two high-octane originals, backed with remixes from label-boss Liebing and alumni Drumcell. Leading the release, ‘Intact’ sees rumbling kicks interlaced with textured percussion and trippy bleeps throughout the slick arrangement. ‘User 7’ follows with sharp, rocking drums peppered with spine-tingling synth hits and swung shakers.

Drumcell, fresh from his ‘Severance Check EP’ with Thomas Hoffknecht on CLR, brings beefed up low end and rattling claps for his take on ‘User 7’. Rounding out the release, Liebing himself steps up to remix ‘User 7’, introducing meaty acid lines, crunching hats, and dense FX for a heaving interpretation of the original.

Discos Perdidos - which translates as Lost Records - is a new series started by Lisbon label Paraíso, dedicated entirely to releasing archival music that, for a reason or another, never saw the light of day.

The first outing on this adventure into the unknown is by none other than the legendary portugal-born, london-based techno instigator @ciscoadvent aka Cisco Ferreira. The three tracks on this EP were written in 1998 and were meant to be released on a label that another Portuguese techno legend - Jiggy - meant to start running, but other projects got in the way. Fast forward to early 2023, Jiggy showed the Paraíso crew the DATs containing these gems - immediately entrancing - and both him and The Advent agreed to give Discos Perdidos the honours of putting them out.

Titled Shiolas, this three-tracker opens with 'Don't Do It', a relentless techno banger that, albeit its four to the floor drum pattern, feels swingy thanks to cleverly programmed percussion and claps. A concise but extremely effective bassline and synth lead guides the energetic smasher, with cut-up vocals, timely placed filters and hi hats giving it a final shimmer.

It's followed by the Piano Mix, with an equally strong and raw arrangement and a new element - an alien, sound-sculpted piano that gives it an extra sense of urgency.

The closing track 'Jacker' has more abstract leanings, although similarly dancefloor-ready, featuring an off-kilter yet driving conversation between stabs and bells in a display of expertly crafted dubby yet visceral sound design.

A piece of dance music history is recovered - techno is now a story told more accurately.

Lobster Theremin continue a string of euphoric, rave ready techno and trance cuts with a release from Germany’s Rove Ranger that’s hard, fast and effective. Straight off the back of his latest release on ravey UK imprint 10 Pills Mate, and his incredible track ‘Stutenlove’ on Lobster’s PLUR Compilation Volume 1. Rove Ranger is the dancefloor gift that keeps on giving.  

Opener ‘1998’ conjures up earlier release Rave Memories, with loopy, psychedelic, thundering 140+ techno, hurtling us from acid car ride into full flight across a sunset-burnt sky. Hefty percussive techno with an old skool sound, waves or rave drift over pacey heat and compelling kicks. Then we arrive at ‘101010’. 100% warehouse body music on this driving title track. Organic, clinking, clattering shell percussion clops over a dark, endless beat. True Berlin warehouse spirit channelled into the machine. 

The uplifting ‘In My Mind’ is a proper chunky club pumper, blending lush vocals, squelchy bass lines and housier elements. The peak of euphoria and a nostalgic trip back to 90’s fusion dance music. Rounding out the EP on a eurorave tip, ‘Schaltkreis’ launches down a swirling, mesmerising wormhole. Pulling together urgent trance-synth stabs, racing pulse drumwork and crushed production taking us headlong into the abyss.
