If I Had An Ocean

No synth, just uke.  With real crickets, under real stars.  Out in the real boonies where I was building a house by myself (and my wife) using only hand-tools and hand cut timbers.  Recorded this just 2 days before my wife told me she was pregnant, just 5 days before my concussion, which kept me unable to edit it, so it's just one take, composed spontaneously.  Then I had concussion-seizures and hallucinations for months, and could not read well, and had difficulty understanding my wife's words, and thought about death every day.  Couldn't finish the house.  Then the house and my recording studio/ trailer home burned down in a 5,000 acre forest fire.  And a car and a trailer and dozens of giant trees burned too.  Mostly uninsured.  Luckily, we weren't there when the fire came, so none of us (or our 4 dogs and 5 cats) got hurt at all.  And my concussion got 50% better after 2 years.  
And now, I'm happy.  I live in a nice house, and I made an awesome kid!  I love my life!
