Berlin based trio Dina Summer, the new wave/electronic project of duo Local Suicide and Kalipo, returns this summer with their new single ‘Alien’; a tightly spun 80s influenced dance track with otherworldly vibes. The single follows on from their acclaimed 2022 album ‘Rimini’ (Audiolith Records) - a nostalgic journey through retro disco sounds -  2021 EP ‘Who Am I’ and 2024 EP Hide & Seek (Iptamenos Discos), as well as a participation in Curses’ Next Wave Acid Punx Compilation on Eskimo.

With online streams into the millions and airplay across German radio (including a Hot Rotation on Berlin's Radio Eins), Dina Summer’s music has been featured on Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists and been spun live by DJs such as Charlotte De Witte, The Hacker, Curses, Joris Voorn, Joyce Muniz & Dubfire. Previous releases have been featured in music press including RA, Groove, Kulturnews, Spiegel Online, Musikexpress, Mixmag, Tsugi and FAZE, who declared the group one of the most promising German electronic acts to watch. Their live sets have been equally successful, selling out concert halls all over Europe and performing at international festivals throughout 2023 & 2024.

New single ‘Alien’ sees Dina Summer delve further into minimal wave territory, stripping back a synth-driven dancefloor arrangement to emphasise its pulsating bassline and otherworldly vocals. The track, which draws inspiration from electronic music pioneers such as Kraftwerk, captures a range of retro-futuristic sounds - indicative of the way in which this artist moves flexibly between past and future. Exploring the idea of “other” through an extraterrestrial narrative, the song is a tribute to outsiders and “freaks” and serves as a metaphor for acceptance, openness and communication.

Argentinian artist Yerno Vil embarked on an exciting journey to Spain, driven by a quest for new adventures and the dream of releasing an EP on Espacio Cielo. When they heard his demos, it was clear that this was not just his goal but a perfect fit for the label. Introducing Especulate, his latest EP — a showcase of Yerno Vil's impressive talent, featuring stunning remixes by Kay-Chi and label boss, Parissior, premiering right here.

Sometimes, the World Wide Web is beautiful, isn’t it? Today’s premiere is a good example: The Ukrainian label POVILNO, for its forthcoming release, opened the doors for another parcel of the fruitful partnership between Barcelona-based Mexican virtuoso Ludviq (SXDNS413) and Vienna’s superstar Nick Hanzo (SXDNS065). Something that would not be possible without the miracle of the doomed but still useful Internet.

According to the history books, everything started in 2021 when Nick revisioned Ludviq’s “Saltu Capsicum” for his first EP on NEIN Records. Since then, their paths have already crossed each other a few other times resulting in well-received remixes or collaborations published either on their very own imprints (Hanzo’s Belly Dance Services and Ludviq’s Bonkers) or other platforms such as Melomana and Quixotical.

For their debut on POVILNO, the lads came up with a couple of “thought-bending and dance-floor-ready originals” and invited none other than Lebollet (RASTROLIVE004) and Leonor (SXDNS034) for the remix duties.

Premiered here, "Ace of Pentacles" develops its magic by showing off an imperative bassline topped with a complex concoction of percussive elements and sharp FX shots. The oscillating synth layer triggers a mesmerising break during the drop just to be abruptly interrupted when all the hysteria of the aforementioned mixture starts over. That’s the title track, a “catchy exploration through deep basslines, intricate rhythms, and cosmic syncopation.”

Born In Mexico is proud to present the new edition of "Tandem". On this occasion, the guest artists are Juan Soto and Pato Watson & Le Chev. The EP includes two brilliant original tracks accompanied by remixes by Rigopolar and Dan Solo.
 
The EP begins with "The Map" by Juan Soto, a fascinating intergalactic journey where bass and drums intertwine with constant energy, while pads softly envelop the listener. Rigopolar contributes his vision in the remix of "The Map", offering a deep and lysergic version. The melted bass, reverberating voices, and enveloping synthesizers transport the listener to a sonic trance.
 
Continuing with "Head To Head" by Pato Watson and Le Chev, the EP reaches new heights of intensity. The cyclical rhythm hypnotizes while the bass and drums drive forward, immersing the listener in a sonic whirlwind of synthesizers. To close with a flourish, Dan Solo transforms "Head To Head" into a powerful psychedelic journey, maintaining an intense and captivating rhythmic base from start to finish.

Teniente Castillo returns to Roam Recordings with Two to Tango - an artfully crafted dark offering backed by a strong set of remixers that carry the integrity of the original into uniquely different areas. The original version from Play Pal Music label boss combines guitars and electronic sounds in a way that both sounds like a live band and an abstract excerpt from a conscious machine. Legendary New York artist Justin Strauss takes on the first remix adding a vocal that sounds like it was always meant to be underpinned by an exquisite liquid bassline. Thomass Jackson is up next with a beautifully quirky rendition that feels like an after party for which you want to be invited. Kaputt club resident Nuclear Digital Transistor rounds out the EP with a percussive version that brings out the guitars from the original in a new light and we gotta say if uniquely fitting basslines are your thing Nuclear Digital Transistor seals the deal on this four track EP.
