After a release that did not go unnoticed on Ulla Records first VA “In Motion”, Austher is back with his debut EP “Hybrid Humans”.

His first standalone project flirts with a dystopian, transhumanist and dark-disco-inspired universe. Always blending genres, he subverts the codes of rock and disco with electronic sonorities, to craft his retro-inspired yet resolutely modern sound.

The opening track “Hybrid Humans” sets the stage for the transhumanist journey to come : arpeggiated basslines, catchy leads and bouncing drums making up for an ambiguous, bitterly naive, track. But the reality check comes quickly. “Mind Threat” promptly sets for a much darker tone, with heavy driven basslines, dramatic synths and intense build-ups. “Humanity Resilience” takes this dystopian road a step further. Shaped around hypnotizing melodies, this track pushes up to the edge of rationality. “Prophecy” strikes as a final statement, fully embracing the experimental turn this journey has taken, with its heavy synths, and gnarly acid basslines !

Abandon all preconceptions you have about the future, and dive in Austher’s transhumanist story !

We would like to start today’s premiere congratulating our friends of the solid Mexican label Bonkers for their anniversary. Great job, lads! As usual, the occasion will be celebrated with some mezcal shots and a compilation: “Year IV” brings together a rich tapestry of sonorities provided with love by acclaimed and rising names of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: Sobek, Colossio (SXDNS025) Feat. Animales Nocturnos, Ludviq & Radial Gaze, Moisees & ZEA, ID_UA (SXDNS229), and Oblako Maranta spared no efforts to deliver powerful and well-constructed cuts, successfully raising the bar of the jubilant release.

Premiered here, ID_UA’s contribution is a must-have! Kyiv-based Igor Dyeyev, even facing the atrocities of a war in his country, allows himself to escape to a safe haven that is his creative mind when producing in order to keep fighting the good fight: Bringing to life his own interpretation of high-quality dance-floor-oriented music. And he fails to disappoint! In “Crucial Moment”, the throbbing bassline, arpeggiated synth layers, ominous lead, and acid gait he came up with set the mood of one of the highlights of the VA.

House Music & Techno hot-head Simon TG has finally decided to explore his most obscure influences and bring to life some darkness-infused Hi-NRG cuts. With previous appearances on Toolroom, Milk & Sugar, Codigo56, There Was Jack, and WyldCard, to name a few, he lands now on the vital Spanish hub Side Up Works with “Digital Runner” featuring two well-constructed themes and their respective remixes made with love by Bonnie Spacey (SXDNS337) and Heinech.

Hailing originally from Chile, Simon has chosen Barcelona as his new headquarters to keep fighting the good fight of spreading love through his music. Whether performing or producing, he fails to disappoint when it comes to delivering high-quality output, independently of the genre.

His incursion into the Indie Dance/Dark Disco realm comes packed with an Underworld-inspired bassline, a frantic synth layer, trippy pads, and speech-like vocal hooks, resulting in an intense and rhapsodic peak-time beast.

Dina Summer, the collaborative band project between Kalipo and duo Local Suicide, invites you to indulge in the excess, glamour, and magic of the 80s with their new ‘Hide & Seek’ EP on Iptamenos Discos. Featuring a blend of new wave, dark disco and EBM fuelled techno, the EP embraces the nostalgic synth filled sound of the past whilst bringing a modern touch.
The EP kicks off with ‘Unter Strom’, which features a dramatic opening that inspires visions of a night sky soaked in neon light. The energy slowly builds until the drums burst onto the scene and you feel at home within the beat. A euphoric melody and captivating vocals perfectly embody the ecstatic feeling of a full dance floor and is setting the tone for what’s to come.
Following the gripping beginning, we move into the title song 'Hide & Seek' - a soaring track which brings a sense of freedom. Shining and '80s reminiscent, it is a radiant and romantic love letter to disco balls, laser beams, smoke machines and hazy dreams. A blissful and invigorating spirit pulses through the song which elicits the feeling that you are floating up into the air, breaking through a sea of grey clouds to reveal the sunshine beyond.
‘All Or Nothing’ is a grungy dancefloor stomper with commanding vocals and a forceful kick and snare which unite to create a relentless and powerful sound. The assertive lyrics and intense electrifying atmosphere will be sure to have everyone’s fists pumping in the air.
'Excess' takes us deeper. Dripping with texture and allure - the track is a lavish, swirling pool of synths and seductive vocals. Its indulgent bassline guides us through a dynamic night-time landscape, leading us into the EP's finale.
Last but not least, the EP also features a club edit of 'Hide & Seek', which gives the track an entirely different feel. The same lyrics now have a newfound sense of urgency. It's darker and biting - a thrilling counterpart to the original version.
Impassioned and electric from start to finish, "Hide & Seek" EP is an impressive addition to the Dina Summer and Iptamenos Discos catalogue. Releasing on February 23rd, 2024 it will be available on 12” vinyl and all digital & streaming platforms.

"Sensory Spaces" EP by Kadiristy kicks off a series of EPs to be presented this summer via Regulardisco. It's a soft "spring" release that balances between eclectic dance melodies and abstractly tropical sounds.

The EP is four original tracks written between February and April 2024 (except "Vortex" previously, which was available on the compilation by the label System - the version on this release is slightly rebuilt and got a fresh remaster). Additionally, there's a spacy “emotional support” remix for the title track by Lauer and a harder club adaptation of “Apex” by Bawrut.
