Zero Cult - Absolute Zero

Where to start? The year is 1990. The locale is Italy. The European techno-trance wave is in full swing, built on the foundations of New Beat, with Frankfurt, Valencia, Goa and the Italian riviera as hotspots for this new sound created by blue-eyed producers in the four corners of the Old World.

A few producers linked to the wonderful & influential label DFC release music under the name ATAHUALPA. The influences are Latin, and Inca to be more precise. After all, Atahualpa was the last Inca emperor, executed by the Conquistadors. Weird flex ragazzi, but OK. 

Anyways, I have always loved this tune. It's got everything I love. Early trance arpeggios which are a reminder of the link between Hi-NRG, EBM, New Beat and the T word. Cheeky pan-pipe melodies. Breakbeat loops. Spanish vocals. Early 90s cultural naivety. And a lead keyboard sound that feels like a harpsichord. I fucking love harpsichords.

I love playing this tune when it's the least expected. It sounds even better given the slow treatment. So I sure hope you will vibe with it as much as I do.

London based French producer Mondowski follows a spate of recent releases on Relish and Ombra with a new club-orientated vision for London label and clubnight SC&P. Following his remix services on label's debut and 4th releases, Mondowski makes his full lavel debut with an electro inspired turn. Dancefloor orientated lead track Sholay finds a mesmerizing path somewhere between extroverted 80's electro and celebratory spiritual transcendence and gets the remix treatment from Pinkman's Kris Baha who subverts the original by turning the electro backbone up to 11. The EP's B-side, Negative Space, voyages into darker electro territories with Kraftwerkesque synths, rolling pads and a motorik bassline, all of which provides the launchpad for Multiple Man to turn out a pitch black EBM banger.

She was preened and pruned, not a hair out of place nor a crease in sight. Heaven forbid she'd be seen in anything but her best, she had a reputation to uphold, a name to represent. As the guests entered she greeted them with a quivering smile painted on with bright red lipstick — it wasn't easy for her to pretend she liked these people, but she could put on a false front for a few hours. At least until she got what she needed from them...

Having added releases for the likes of Pinkman, Bunker and Blackest Ever Black to his arsenal, Dutch producer Ian Martin joins the roster for Onrijn Records with a new 6-track mini album. The release is as eclectic as his general output, bringing several different influences to the table, from new wave and house to minimal synth and electro, searching for different melodies and building tension along the way.

"While the first vinyl release of MSQ Records sub label "Rotation Mécanique " is being pressed on the factory, we present you RMR002, which owned by the producer «Aheadacheaday». The album «Naivety» consists of 6 viscous psychedelic dance stories written by the artist and one remix on its main track «Naivety in Cerrocupo» done by the resident DJ and co-founder of the Dusseldorf - based club/ bar "Salon Des Amateurs" Tolouse Low Trax. Throughout the album, we are hearing a subtle connection between contemporary electronic music and psychedelic shamanism, permeated with the caustic sounds of analog synthesizers, live instruments, drum machines with some magical hypnosis added. The final track «Over The Wall» allows the listener to breathe some fresh air and finally free himself from the shackles of the audio ritual described above.

Alberto de Angeli aka Aheadacheaday - half of the experimental audiovisual duo ALAN. You can listen to his monthly Internet Public Radio set Sunday Headaches, a show focused on independent labels’ specials and guests (Sacha Mambo, Gil.Barte, Alex Egan, Charlotte Atomi) or spinning vinyls as a resident at Fred Records (Milan), with a glass nearby.

«Naivety» was released on a limited quantity audio cassette and has the double-page spread in a quality polygraphic. The ultraviolet dyeing on a white audio cassette is another essential attribute of RMR002. The professional TAPE 1 mastering is the beneficial that allows to listen it on some easy household appliances, as well as on any HI-FI / HI-END equipment. And it’s different from the digital sales mastering. We always care about the excellent sound quality of all our releases. "Like water drops, gently hovering, slowly bursting one by one, reassembling themselves simultaneously." An imagery that shaped this shining debut album "klondike" by hanisii - a mysteriously operating artist who has been flying under the radar for half a decade now yet scattering some highly unique re-interpretations via Soundcloud.

After a no-contact-no-contract-deal with Rico Puestel about remixing and editing his music back in 2016 and 2017 (working out both stunningly and skillfully), it took three years until this album at hand emerged out of the blue. Adapted to the circumstances, Rico Puestel constructed a way of presenting this specialty item appropriately on his large-scale project "Time In The Special Practice Of Relativity": A "slight bit" beyond the usual, showcasing the entire album on a limited cassette tape together with an exclusive SD card, carrying its digital audio version + bonus material.

As one might cynically state that God created music, the devil the ones writing about it, it feels right to keep it short and simple about the album itself here: Setting the scene itself with an intro and outro of genuine beauty (letting even an old broadcasting signal sound like those multifarious water drops of elegancy), everything in between profoundly passes through the depths of electronic onomatopoeia in nine diverse yet coherent and organic shapes, melting the groovy energy of House music with a pervasive serenity and clearness of Techno aesthetics. 

While "klondike" allows itself to only raise the singular claim of wanting to get listened to, the scent of a future classic might be floating around the ether...
