Johanna Pigott’s Scribble project floated through the airwaves Down Under during the first years of the 80’s, gathered here is a succinct collection of her dreamy electronic pop from that era. There’s an enigmatic feel woven throughout, songs such as “River” set sail on an imagined Antipodean Balearic vibe, while blissful end-of-nighter  “Mother of Pearl” would likely get DJ Harvey in a spin. ‘The Party’ poignantly mulls missing the big night out, while “Mr Calico’ navigates spooked out noir before the eerie synth-waves of “B4” (rearranged by local maestro Hysteric)

UK based record label Comma Traxx unveils a new digital only side project ‘Border Recordings’. Exploring the sounds that are moving through out the underground, one country at a time. First up on the imprint, the label is staying close to home with Unito, a compilation of various artists based in the United Kingdom.  Thirteen mixed musical background producers that have come together to tell a story; aiming to push the genres we often hear on the dance floor and expand them into new territories allowing for a release that aims to open up new possibilities for the styles of music we are now so familiar with.
One thing’s for certain, with this level of talent on board, there’s something here for everyone.
