Alex Medina is next up on the always innovative Hungarian label Secret Fusion with a new release featuring remixes from label heads Secret Factory, and techno don Redshape. 

Canary Islands' Alex Medina heads up Mumbai Records, and his work goes from deep house to deep techno via well-crafted electronica. He always looks outside the usual rules with his music and has also released on the likes of Innervisions, Diynamic and Laurent Garnier's CODE3 QR label. 

Opener 'Trio Infernale' kicks off the EP, with a slinky bassline and shuffling groove led by a freaky lead synth sound over heavy and dubby low ends. Add the trippy vocal loops, and you have a track to build incredible momentum in any set. 

Up next is 'Un Memento', a writhing, fizzing fusion of synthetic lines, skewed synths and gurgling bass that fires your synapses and makes for an energising experience as the drums roll on. It's texturally rich and perfect for intense dance floor experiences. 

First to remix is Redshape, a legendary mask wearer from Germany with a lo-fi and dusty take on deeply atmospheric techno on labels like Delsin and Running Back. His superb version slows things down, strips them back to the wobbly acid bass and allows the minimal drums to roll into an unknown future full of subtle tension that keeps you locked. The revered Hungarian party starters and label heads Secret Factory then add their remix. It's a brighter, loose cut with hopeful melodies and reflective cosmic chords, adding an uplifting style to the original. 

The ‘Trio Infernale’ EP is another brilliantly left-of-centre release of rich club sounds from Secret Fusion.

For its forthcoming episode, the mighty Vilnius/Buenos Aires-based platform Quixotical Records opens its doors for the rising & shining French producer Zaratustra (SXDNS348) and his “Tribal Quest”, a six-track intricate EP featuring three outstanding originals and three out-of-the-box interpretations made with love by a true dream team of collaborators: None other than Balam (SXDNS048), A-Tweed (SXDNS222), and Panko (FREEDL051).

Hailing from Paris, France, Zaratustra has been having a busy 2023 so far by delivering well-received originals and remixes published on interesting labels such as Logia, Club Mackan, Enlace, and Cafe De Anatolia LAB, just to name a few. For his debut on Quixotical, he invites us to explore his endeavours throughout a mystical journey that encompasses nature, dance, and ancestry.

Premiered here, Balam’s take on “Sons Of The Amazon” is an ode to the danceable weirdness. Owner of a peculiar sonority that embodies complex percussive layers and rhythmic acid elements, the skilled Argentinean producer handed over exactly what was expected: A version full of, yeah… complex percussive layers and rhythmic acid elements. Peak-time material here, just saying!

Hailing from Mexico City, Edd Brave (FREEDL033) is another young Latino talent whose reputation can be found throughout the globe due to his solid works published on vital labels such as Emerald & Doreen, Veneno, Maleante, Logia, and Kyma Komplex. He is finally back to the latter with his first full EP: “Amour Denoche” comes packed with two beautiful originals and four essential remixes made with love by Veltrán (FREEDL050), Ludviq, Super Vatos, and Deenia & Praqqa.

For those not familiar with the catalogue of the rising Mexican imprint, know that Kyma fails to disappoint when it comes to delivering high-quality Indie Dance/Dark Disco cuts – and Edd’s entry is far from breaking such successful string.

Premiered here, “Denoche” is a true zero gravity Disco experience: Groovy, frolic, and acid, the theme develops its magic by delivering a true showcase of Edd’s old-school influences. The icing-on-the-cake vocals by Michelmor cannot go unmentioned.

Roam Recordings boss Jason Peters returns with a new psychedelic acid house meets indie dance single entitled Strange to Be Alive. Dark and trippy synth work underpins Jason’s heavily washed vocals in this latest offering. Reaching out to Mexico where the label has strong ties and affection, the release gains remix support from Roam alumni Cabizbajo and Moisees. Cabizbajo is up first and delivers a masterfully dark, heavy, and head nodding dub version. Up next is Duro boss Moisees with a driving rendition that spins the original themes into new and exciting rhythmic dimensions. Rounding out the EP is JP’s More Acid Dub that strips out the vocal of the original and replaces it with, as the name suggests, more acid!

“Abacilar “ is the Caribbean Spanish slang for “to go for a dance”. Abacilar is a Producer, Audio Engineer and DJ based in Berlin. His productions are based on digital models yet inspired by an organic touch. 

He is motivated to create an energetic atmosphere to deliver distinctive grooves, hypnotic leads and powerful Bass lines. He thrives on taking the dance floor on a sonic journey where nothing exists but the epic resonances that take effect. His music taste and connections are deeply moulded and influenced by the vibrant nightlife of Istanbul. 

He has been an avid dancer ever since he could walk. 
His musical journey through the Americas left him further enchanted with the connectivity of music. Consequently, he began to experiment with his own productions and organize festivals in exotic places along his journey. 

His travels eventually led him to Berlin, where he began to organize underground raves in abandoned spaces and produce music that takes one on a journey to travel to distinct atmospheres.
