We present you the EP from Anton Levdikov “The Umbra is going wild”. Umbras are the author’s mythical characters, about whom he tells legends about and depicts in his paintings and installations. The EP chronicles their journeys, which become wilder from track to track: through darkness to light, through light to darkness. A long but fascinating journey.

Musically, Anton notes his love for industrial music, acid house and electronic body music. The remixes involve producers from different genres: their diversity continues the path of Umbra. Among them: Mexican producer TKUZ (@tkuz), Spaniard and owner of the Logical Records label - Ivan De La Rouche (@ivandelarouch), resident of Arma 17 and Pinkman - LVRIN (@lvrin), one of the founders of the Bravers - ORYOL (@bravers_oryo) and resident of Temple de Plastique - JULIA KONOR (@juliakonor).

The title track Alfheim is an anthem born of machines that does the duo’s namesake proud. Heimdal takes the mood into a darker realm with its masterful synth worth over perfectly programmed drum machines. Midgaard keeps it dark with its driving arpeggios underpinning lush pads.

The EP is backed by remixes from Younger Than Me and Mufti. Younger Than Me is up first with an uptempo rave version that brings psychedelic acid to the party. Roam alumni Mufti brings the tempo back down into a groove with a warbly bass leading to a refreshing melody to round out the EP

PREMIERE: Marchine Machines - Alfheim (Younger Than Me Celestial Rave Remix) [Roam Recordings]

40 Thieves are back on Roam Recordings, teaming up with vocalist Alona to release their latest cosmic disco gem, "Shake You Off". Fans of the trio (Layne Fox, Corey Black, and Jay Williams) might recognise them from the dance-floor classic "Don't Turn it Off (I Think I Like It)", their eclectic album "The Sky is Yours", or their previous Roam hit "Take Me I'm Yours".

This new single delivers a dance-floor ready track featuring Alona's vocals layered over lush electronic melodies.

The release also features two standout remixes from Roam Recordings alumni Shubostar and label boss Jason Peters. Shubostar kicks things off, maintaining the warm, inviting vibe while introducing a dash of Italo disco flair. Label founder Jason Peters takes a different approach, stripping down the original to create a deep, pulsating, heavy version. Rounding out the release are an instrumental and radio friendly edit of the original track.
This project has strong San Francisco roots, and we couldn't be more excited to collaborate with our Bay Area family on this release. But beyond our personal ties, we truly believe this record is something special.

Ackerman's debut EP on Play Pal opens with the high-octane title track, "More & Faster" a dynamic mix of mid-paced percussion, syncopated arpeggios, robotic vocals, and sharp snares.

Next up is "Time Machine," a moody, synth-driven track that offers psychedelic dark grooves, punctuated by stuttering vocals and 303s. Meanwhile, "Can We Rewind Time" stomps forward with a heavy bassline and pulsating sound waves, building to a fiery climax.

Adding depth to the release are label friends and frequent Play Pal contributors Mufti, Leonor and TYU, each bringing their unique stamps to the originals.

Mufti’s rework of "More & Faster" strips back the original, retaining the hypnotic mantra, while adding new layered synth lines that heighten the tension throughout the track. Leonor’s darker take on "Time Machine" introduces a menacing funk, complete with a tempo-slowing breakdown before the latin vocal (a personal addition of his), kicks back in with force.

TYU rounds off Ackerman's kinetic collection with his signature blend of percussive acid bubbling, congas, and 303s, delivering an electrifying finish to the EP.

AGLE - An Easy Heaven (Fabrizio Mammarella Remix)

Marching Machines is a Belgian duo with a musical history that spans over more than two decades. Their love for electronic machine manipulation is key and have their output on labels like Correspondant, Rotten City Files, Opilec-music, Why people dance, Nein and Wrong Era records. 

One operator in service is Dimitri Andreas, a producer whose chronicles go back to the early 2000’s, with a wide range of works that vary from leftfield electronica and Belgian pop, to tailormade music for contemporary ballet performances. He speaks Wooky fluently and he’s a master in soap carving. You’ll find his creations and time-lapse videos on social media. Being a nerd, he’s inscrutable. The rumor goes that he once sold a synth to fund a tree hugger workshop on the island state of Yap.

The other operator is Ghent based Spacid, a well-known DJ/promoter who has been active in Belgium's underground scene for more than two decades. He is the former boss of Radius records and re-released Italo disco in the early millennium. Next to his love for music, Spacid loves green beans and koala bears. He's feeling judge-y when he finds the time to dust off his vinyl stock and he is an avid collector of in-flight sick bags. In 2014, he won the prestigious Tuvaluan Lacemaking championship in and is also an amateur surgeon.

Together they do their stubborn thing. In a strange and inspiring way, they complement each other in their quest for innovation. They’re exploring the boundaries of Electro, Dark disco, Italo and EBM, topped with a Belgian old skool New beat vibe.
