Two excellent remixes coming in for AIKON's 'Night Rider' Release.
Ukrainian powerhouse The Organism takes ‘Night Rider’ and gives it an entirely new broken rhythm, with the original parts given a new lease of life as a result of the bouncing flow he whips up. Modular Project transform ‘Street Dancer’ into a brooding, slow-burning masterpiece, swapping the electro rhythm for a solid 4/4 beat and lacing the track with a little muted, distorted acid gurgle.

Dischi Edits: Modular Project

French electronic duo Kimshies, composed of Peo Watson and Mika Frojman marks their inaugural release on Roam Recordings with their latest EP, "End of Love". Known for their compelling fusion of dark, gritty soundscapes, the duo has already carved a niche for themselves with an impressive discography spanning labels like Dust & Blood, Aeon, Duro, and Ombra.

The next Trafico Music EP comes from Concret & TYU with Corrado, Luzius, Borusiade and Bellville on the remixes. The standout tracks come as a limited edition, 250-run vinyl pressing with a digital release a month later. Concret is Italo-Mexican musician and DJ Diego Angelico Escobar and sound-designer, keyboardist and producer Q-pha from Italy. Next to guesting on Red Light Radio and Rinse FM, Diego has played all over Europe and released on Her Majesty’s Ship and Akbal Music. They have an involving, mid-tempo techno sound that is always artful. Here they link with Tyu, a Mexican producer who releases on DURO and Calypso Records as well as Trafico. First up is the fantastic ‘Halo,’ a dystopian bit of robot-techno with stiff bass stabs and snaking synths. It’s evocative machine music with a real angsty edge. The opening remix comes from production whizz Corrado Bucci who is currently working with labels like Compost Records, Local Talk and BBE Recordings. He turns ‘Halo’ into an uplifting affair with dancing melodies and brightly lit synths that take you higher. Luzius is next, a Mexican producer who is part of the SsenSorial crew, and flips the track into a more stripped back bit of supple minimal techno.Concret & TYU then serve up the superb ‘Black, Blue, Yellow, Green’, a raw bit of deep but metallic house, with dark vocals and end-of-the-world chords that bring to mind a real sense of cinematic finality. Comeme’s revered Borusiade then builds on a discography that features one of last year’s best albums with a remix that reworks the drums into busy, punchy things as slippery synths slither over the top in rueful fashion. Closing things out is a remix from Bellville that reimagines the track as a zoned out piece of house music with sci-fi synth motifs and smooth drum work all getting you into a reverie.This is brilliantly futuristic music that brings new emotion and drama to the dance floor.

The collaboration with Modular Project continues in 2019 with the release of 'Vivid Poison', their new single.
Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli started to work together in 2015, joined by a strong love for music and vintage synths, and now they are running their own record label Nothing Is Real, spreading their music in Italy and around Europe.

Their electronic style is influenced by new wave and 80’s sound fusing powerful drums, pulsating synths for an emotional impact. ‘Vivid Poison' is the perfect example of this mixture.
Originally conceived after a jamming in the studio, after listening to a lot of Italo disco music, the song comes to life thanks to the collaboration with the artist Eleonora Zaripova.
The Russian-Tartarian artist now living in Berlin has a classical music education and jazz-experience. Her beautiful voice transmits fragility and strength, melancholy and soul, and fit perfectly with the music produced by Alberto and Alex, taking us back in time.

The release also includes two valuable remixes. After her debut on Rebirth in 2017 Perel is back on the label with two strong remixes combining the original vocals with her unique 90’s synth pop sound.
Tel Aviv artist Nadav Spiegel aka Autarkic, follows his productions on Disco Halal, Golf Channel and Turbo with a powerful remix, injecting his modern Israeli vibe, filthy, intensive yet emotional.

The latest offering from electronic powerhouse @nothingisrealrecords sees label heads Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli lay down one of their finest tracks to date while bringing three divergent perspectives to the signature @ModularProject sound, showcasing the raw talent and ingenuity that has become synonymous with the Italian label. 

‘Electronic Disco’, a new wave-influenced heater built around a muscular groove, has been given the remix treatment by three likeminded producers, Curses, Niv Ast, and Cantor. Fusing the sounds and sentiment of classic synth-pop with the rhythms of contemporary dance music, Modular Project continue to forge a bold new sound that is truly their own. 

Opening up the EP, Modular Project’s ’Electronic Disco’ pulls together threads from classic new wave, electro, and contemporary techno to produce an instant classic that is sure to be tearing up dance-floors across the globe as soon as they open up. A masterclass in tension and release, the track builds suspense with glistening arpeggios and rising pads before a heady 4/4 kick takes centre stage, driving the momentum forward as vintage synths and vocoder form a melodic counterpoint to the relentless groove. On his first release for the label, Curses stretches out Modular Project’s ‘Electronic Disco’ into an ecstatic 8-minute workout, expertly weaving in dramatic ‘80s synth stabs and weighty percussion to create a subtle variation on the original. Israeli producer Niv Ast takes the track in the opposite direction, stripping back the central elements to produce an enigmatic take on minimal techno that retains the analogue feel of the source material. 

Closing the EP with a 360-degree spin, @Cantor_music injects a “live” feeling into ‘Electronic Disco’, laying down guitar riffs and lead vocals that place the track’s new wave influences front and centre while breaking down the boundaries between genres, resulting in something utterly unique and wildly original.

Modular Project - Electronic Disco (Not So Boring Cantor Rework) [Nothing Is Real]

Mexican label Innisfallen, curated by Montessori (FLXXX), is proud to present its second release. After featuring acclaimed Israeli artist Middle Sky Boom (remixed by Colossio, Azaria, and Alvaro Cabana) in its debut, this time the magic comes from the hands of French producer Did Virgo, who delivered two high-quality originals that come accompanied with two solid remixes provided by Italian Franz Scala and Mexican Die Jungle.

In a utopian world, machines are intended to be capable of running eternally after an initial boost without the need for any additional external energy due to the concept of perpetual motion. The title track seems to depict this utopian world. Listening to it is like immersing in a scenario in which the machines have taken control. The fat and absurd bass line plus the trippy and sublime synth layer could perfectly be the highlights of Did Virgo’s “Perpetual Motion”, but nothing can overcome the impressive and imposing siren-like synth riff of the theme. The energy and clout it deploys is undoubtedly its most striking feature, something the fans of apocalyptic sci-fi books/movies out there might like.
