One day they would look back at moments like this and wonder whether it was all worth it. For now nothing else mattered.

One day they might come to regret the late nights and the misdemeanours. For now they danced with sin.

This was a story of success and excess. The consequences could be faced later.

Dina Summer is the collaborative band project between Kalipo and duo Local Suicide. They draw upon an eclectic array of influences, from synth pop to electroclash. The result is a nostalgic throwback to the heady days of EBM and the turn of the millennium.

Melómana opens the year with a compilation that brings together producers who have marked and defined the musical orientation of the label. Its reference 039 is not only a testimony of long-term work, it is also the announcement of what is to come this year 2024.

The compilation brings together songs by artists such as Panka Panka, Azaria, Yahaira, JGR, Jackwasfaster, Ludviq, Nick Hanzo, Macaulay, Mijo, Pastor in Vegas, Rubinskee, Ademarr, Joseeph. Established talents on the scene, as well as emerging projects, offering an approach as designed for the track as it is for home listening. Altogether, we find fused rhythms and rich soundscapes that lead us to an exploration as fluid as it is captivating. The album offers us a dynamic contrast that shows the versatility of a timeless project, created from talent, meticulousness and sonic coherence.The level of production of these guys is intense but, on the other hand, the care of the sounds they release is at the level of those who do things because they want and with the time they really need. The tracks have strength and jump over the prevailing conventions, knowing how to avoid the most recurrent rawness and darkness, seeking dance but without predictable tricks and without exceeding an understandable level of experimentation suitable for the dance floor.

We could say that each producer summarizes their intentions in this compilation, seeking novelty without losing nostalgia, that they play with the genre but without falling into predictable tricks, nor into the arrogance of those who get wrapped up in a genre or mannerism to demonstrate that They have personality. And this is just the beginning, because this year Melómana is going to bring us many surprises.

Embark on a sonic odyssey as Iptamenos Discos presents a thrilling fusion of sound by label heads Local Suicide and Velax. Their EP casts a shadowy, atmospheric spell, blending industrial, electro, dark disco, and techno elements into a mesmerizing tapestry of sound.

The collaboration blossomed when the Berlin based Greco-German DJ duo, Local Suicide, crossed paths with Velax during his sojourn in Mexico City. Hailing from the frigid city of Surgut in Russia, Velax brings a narrative from the existential realm, having crafted music under various aliases for nearly a decade. Fatigued by the dichotomy of truth and falsehood, good and evil, Velax transcended to a metaphysical plane to weave his tales. Meanwhile, Local Suicide's distinctive blend of dark disco, new wave, EBM, and techno serves as the perfect complement to Velax's vision. This EP also boasts high class remixes from the esteemed French icon, Arnaud Rebotini, and the visionary Mexican artist, Andre VII.

Andre VII is a prominent figure in the Mexican electronic music landscape, recognized for his imprint Platino Records, for running the renowned club Bar Oriente in Mexico City and curating Sonar Festival in Mexico. His remix of "Toro" by El Columpio Asesino has gained widespread acclaim over the past year and has graced prominent stages, championed by techno heavyweights like I Hate Models and Amelie Lens. Equally remarkable is his reinterpretation of “Moustache”, Local Suicide & Skelesys’ hit featured on Local Suicide's debut album "Eros Anikate”. With his take on “Keep Driving”, Andre VII injects his signature flair, constructing an irresistible, danceable groove accentuated by deft vocal chops and propulsive percussion.

The genre-defining greats of Dark Disco, Neo Italo and Next Wave remix Romanian icon Alexandrina. Remixes come from Curses, Local Suicide & Radondo, Freudenthal, Borusiade, Walentin Pauer, and Mathmatrix.

Organically grown from the game-changing event series garnering showcases and international takeovers from Berlin to Cape Town, Feinstoff has hosted some of the scene’s greats, such as Damon Jee, Terr, Biesmans and Yame. As a revered music platform and a trusted spearhead within Berlin’s electronic music scene, Feinstoff launches its own label.

Well-known for offering a plethora of authenticity, Feinstoff continues to deliver a significant edge on innovative electronic music and disco movements. This ethos is omnipresent in their first release, a collection of remixes for Romanian icon Alexandrina.

Curses' ever-powerful sonic presence and undeniable influence on the scene is felt greater by the day. He delivers a refreshing touch to his remix of ‘Black Magic’, with his signature baritone guitar and defined drums. In his dub version, more driving tension is added, along with a faster pace. Curses delivers yet another two gems dripping in his unmistakable arcane romanticism.

Greco—German powerhouse Local Suicide and Slow Motion Records affiliate Radondo join forces on their ethereal remix of ‘Animal Power’. Alexandria's vocals weave between twinkling arps and an ominous call and response between synthesized vocals. We’re transported to the dimly lit realms of their respective tastes.

Feinstoff label head Freudenthal snaps ‘Sirin’ into action with a euphoric reimagining of the original. Soaked in Feinstoff’s contemporary Nostalgia and subtle nods to post-punk, Freudenthal readies the remix for the Summer. The remixes all carry the thread of Feinstoff’s abundance of arpeggiated dance-floor magic.

Bucharest’s Walentin Pauer provides a melodic flip of ‘Sirin' with flashes of Electro and an almost C78-style drum pattern. With cosmic-style FX and washed-out hi-hats, we are led to a powerful dark wave payoff.

Borusiade transforms ‘Animal Power’ into an emotive, cinematic soundscape riding a gently oscillating arp, which builds to the wails and cries of Alexandrina’s climatic vocals from the original.

Rounding off the remix EP with conclusive flair is Mathmatrix’s mix for ‘Magnetic Eyes', a cathartic, anthemic piece weaving through flashes of alt-pop. The vocals sit beautifully within the mix's crushed edges, resulting in a breathtaking meeting of visions.

With a mantra to give Nostalgia a modern twist and provide an ever-effective launch pad for artists to expand their horizons, Feinstoff’s first release sets a strong tone for future releases and solidifies this vision.
