The fourth compilation on Sulk Magic starts in style with "Shrimp Daddy", a dark, chugging piece of electronic disco from label owner Bird of Paradise. It sets the tone for the rest of the collection; Dead Love Embargo drops the low-slung "Transmutation", while Emile Strunz and Kolomensky both venture down an electro-influenced route on the acid-soaked "Casual Violence" and brooding "Raving Raven" respectively. There are some lighter moments, most notably on Dharma's shimmering Italo contribution, "A Quick Passing" and the textured ambience of Stove's "Ocean Loom", but overall the mood is designed for sweaty basements - a feeling that is expertly captured by Ian Blevins' "Fleshworld", a throbbing, rumbling piece of electronic disco.

PREMIERE: Bird of Paradise - Shrimp Daddy [Sulk Magic]

We're always happy to welcome a new artist on board. Uranio Empobrecido is the alias of Jorge Gutierrez, the founder and head engineer of the NANO Modules synthesizers brand based and born in Valencia.

He creates his music using his own modular creations together with drum machines. Influenced by electro & breakbeat his music is mechanical, dark and cold as ice. But full of analog warmth at the same time. Here we have three new examples of his raw, energetic and very personal take on electronic music. Moving electrons back and forth!
We instantly thought in Ratlife's honcho and electro wizard Credit 00 to remix one of the tracks on the ep. He choosed 'Bandpass Activated' and delivered a monster of a remix with his very own sound signature.

For the second remix we asked Facets head of Samo records. He delivered a 4x4 dope rework of 'Heating Electrons' paying tribute to Valencia's 'ruta del bakalao' sound and energy. Perfect way to complete the ep.

Krishna Goineau is well known for his starring role in ‘Los Niños del Parque’ with Liaisons Dangereuses and in other projects such as Velodrome and Xeroox. Through one of his friends we have been lucky enough to receive a hard disk on which there are a variety of unreleased tracks by Krishna Goineau with MCL (Micro Cheap League) recorded in the year 85-86. Krishna lived in Barcelona at that time and was involved in different groups while traveling through Germany and Belgium to create new projects. After dissolving Liaisons Dangereuses in 1983 Krishna started a new project with MCL where you can identify the essence and influences that he had at that time, touches of EBM and metal synthesizers with vocals in Spanish as in the track ” No Information ” These tracks are preserved in excellent quality in which Alden Tyrell has done the mastering on vinyl and digital. Having something like this is like finding a treasure in the middle of a secret island. To finalize the release we have edits from Silent Servant, Curses, Esprit Divers. Deckard & Lucient.
