Dublin-based producer and DJ Moving Still brings together parts of his Irish and Saudi heritage to make his fragrant sounds.

A veteran DJ on the Dublin scene, his tracks have taken the festival circuit by storm and has been featured in sets by Palms Trax, Hunee, Skatebard, Nabihah Iqbal, David Vunk, CC Disco, Eclair Fifi and Esa Williams. His tracks are on rotation at NTS and Dublin Digital Radio, and he has been a featured guest on Rinse FM, Radio Al Hara, Red Light Radio, and The Do!! You!!! Breakfast Show w/ Charlie Bones on NTS. He has provided a guest mix for Nabihah Iqbal's Saturday night BBC Asian Network residency show, and has recently taken the reins of his own monthly show with Dublin Digital Radio and Radio Al Hara.

Moving Still is back with his 3rd EP which was released on Jive Hive Records on the 12th of March. He brings together 4 pulsating Arabic-inspired bangers. Taking its sonic roots from the Saudi-African dance tradition of the Mizmar, Moving Still blends acid basslines with traditional percussive patterns, taking us into a new, yet uninhabited realm. Tafadalo!

His mix for Disco Tehran, embodies the unconditional love that you get from being on the dance floor with a hint of sadness that it will never happen the same way again. A feeling that is truly missed and he can't wait to have you all back to his Majlis aka the dance floor so very soon.

In 2020, we collected your stories of immigration for our installation at MoMA PS1.
These stories were sent to us from all over the world, from Iran, India, to Germany, Algeria, the UK, Colombia, and Costa Rica.
To celebrate Nowrouz and the arrival of spring, we present these stories as a multimedia zine titled “Stories of Immigration” along with a mixtape called "Mixtape de la Migración".
This zine is designed by Fisk Projects and will be installed at MoMA PS1 for public viewing. 
You can purchase physical copies as a booklet and cassette tape on our website, they will go on sale on Nowrouz/March 20th.

Tehran's rap & hip hop scene, emerging in response to decades of social and poltical trauma, is arguably among the most hard hitting, poetic, and vital protest movements in the world. In collaboration with Filmsaaz, we present an anthology of Iranian rap & hip hop called "021 - Sefr Do Yek", the numbers that refer to Tehran's area code.
Filmsaaz is an Iranian filmmaker & music producer based in Paris. He has spent years documenting the underground and youth scene in Tehran. The result has been films that have premiered at multiple film festivals including Cannes Film Festival and Locarno. Filmsaaz Farsi Rap Mixtape "Sefr Do Yek - 021" is an anthology of contemporary Iranian rap scene.

This is a mixtape to celebrate Yalda Night (شب یلدا shab-e yalda) this ancient festival of winter solstice is celebrated in Iran, Iraqi Kurdistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey. The longest and darkest night of the year is a time when friends and family gather together to eat, drink and read poetry (especially Hafez) and 'Shahnameh until well after midnight. Fruits and nuts are eaten and pomegranates and watermelons are particularly significant. The red color in these fruits symbolizes the crimson hues of dawn and the glow of life. The poems of Hafiz which can be found in the bookcases of most Iranian families, are read or recited on various occasions such as this festival and Nowruz.

Nil's World with Aram Abbas

Mixtape de la primavera (گلچین بهارانه) is an example of the wide range of music and community that meets at Disco Tehran. This is a multicultural ode to spring and an open and inclusive space that is both international and rooted home in Iran.
This mixtape is compiled by @aryadreaming with music by Roberto Roena, @atacanani , @stickydojah , @moving0still , Shahram Shabpareh, @sahbakia , Ammun, @hassan_shamaizadeh_offical @saltcathedral and poetry by Ahmad Shamloo. The poster by Colombian artist @joseberriolesmes shows the ribbon opening up around "Sabzeh" which marks the end of Nowrouz celebrations.

Most of the tracks were pulled from vinyl, with a few unreleased gems woven in to capture the heart of this vibrant, evolving scene. Nearly all the featured artists are currently active, touring, and carrying the cumbiero spirit across borders.

The mix flows like a vision, dreamlike, hypnotic, and earthy. It’s meant to evoke the feeling of dancing in a jungle, guided by rhythm, nature, and something ancient and magical.
