Presenting their second release of the year, Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Emi Galvin to the label for his debut EP. Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over' and ‘Universe', the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene's most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi's electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Also, an accomplished DJ, Emi's long undulating sets have been applauded for their impeccable track selection and exquisite programming. As one of Argentina's most in demand DJs, Emi has travelled the world, delighting crowds in Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Peru, Romania, Russia, Spain and Uruguay. Forever choosy in his projects, Emi now begins his 2023 production schedule by adding Replug to his resume with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Samsara'. 

As the progressive rhythms and exotic drums of opener ‘Samsara' unfold, it's clear that Emi's craft must be taken to heart. Capsizing basslines cleverly co-ax with punchy beats and thought-provoking vocals as an epic collage of sonic energies takes shape. The Argentine allows the nine-minute journey to build patiently, exploring all paths for its oriental synth melodies, carrying the listener away on a cosmic pilgrimage to reconnect with feelings of hope, freedom and possibility. The worldly arc of both the melodic and vocal elements parallels the increasing depth of Galvin's sonic palette, whereby his classic combination of room rocking grooves and genuine musicality becomes its most dynamic, and most powerful.

Beneath the potent tidal waves of ‘Samsara' lies the hyperventilating helium rush of ‘Around the World'. Evoking a confident club vibe from the start, Emi's recalibrated sonics, emotionally resonant hooks and fragmented vocals blanket a deep muscular framework. With an infectious energy that could win over even the most discerning of heads, it's a journey that becomes unabashedly epic at its peak. Galvin pulls from his progressive repertoire, infusing hip-swinging chord stabs, panoramic synths and broken-beat rhythms across a break that is equal parts tense and emotive, before tactfully building towards a finale of colourful atmospherics and jet-engine exhaust.

The ‘Samsara' showcase finds Emi releasing his first solo originals in over three years, never once losing momentum as they mercurially move from elusive melodies and captivating breaks to dramatic dancefloor thunder - a suggestion that this might be a standout in Galvin's meticulous catalog.

Emi Galvan - Samsara [Replug]

Returning from a short hiatus, Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes Radieux back to the label for a new single. With well over a decade’s worth of DJ experience, Slovenian born artist Radieux has been a fixture at some of the world’s premiere clubs and festivals, sharing the stage with John Digweed, Nick Warren, Solomun and more. Upon creating the Radieux alias in 2019, Artessa Music and Chrom Recordings served as initial landing spots for his melodic club-friendly sound. Fast forward to 2023 and the first six months of year have proved to be the most prolific of Radieux’s career, notching projects for Beat Boutique, Eat My Hat and Soundteller, the latter of which served as a home for his March offering ‘Here Comes The Storm’. Now, making a welcome return to the label, Radieux unveils his latest studio creation ‘Waterfalls and Us’, alongside remixes from Gai Barone and Kamilo Sanclemente & Mauro Aguirre.

Continuing to showcase his great dancefloor sensibilities, Radieux’s ‘Waterfalls and Us’ finds that perfect balance between groove and melody. A muscular low end serves as the foundation for bright percussive arrangements, evolving arps and a gorgeous piano-like lead which serves as a transition into the main break. Coming to full emotional fruition as the centrepiece evolves, melodies converge and textures emerge, perfectly setting up a flurry of drums and smooth key changing finale.

The remixes delivery nicely as well with one of the progressive scenes leading lights Gai Barone turning in another hugely memorable production. The Italian artist leaves something to the imagination here, opting for a dreamier approach which makes great use of texture and colour to create an evolving atmospheric storyboard atop punchy beats and buoyant percussive arrangements. Definitely one for the clued up progressive floors out there.

Rounding out the release with the final remix is Kamilo Sanclemente & Mauro Aguirre who continue to collaboration with great success. The Colombian duo aim squarely at a peak-hour dance floor with full grooves, rolling rhythms and a haunting harmonic topline which marries well with the electric lines below. Looking to keep energy high throughout, the main break is concise, serving to build tension quickly, before a final assault of supersonic synths caps off this epic offering from Soundteller in fine style. Highly recommended.

Musique de Lune opens the fall season by welcoming VITE and Hole Box to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Mexico, both VITE and Hole Box have emerged from their country's avant-garde electronic landscape with a distinctive organic sound. Noted for their attention to detail, arcane musicality and inventive drum arrangements, the duo's craft shines through vividly, making each one of their creations an absorbing experience. The duo's combined discography is highlighted by releases via trendsetting imprints such as Akbal Music, TOR, Tale & Tone and more, while the genre's premiere DJs have been steadfast with support along the way. Having previously worked on a project for Akbal Music, VITE and Hole Box now combine their extension forces once again, making their much anticipated Musique de Lune debut with 'Midway', alongside a remix from Ilias Katelanos & Plecta. 

Continuing to evolve and impress, VITE & Hole Box deliver one of their most thematic creations to date in 'Midway'. Warm punchy beats and a rolling groove set the foundation for a smooth flow into heartfelt vocal samples, dusty percussive arrangements and a gorgeous array of orbiting effects. Mood continues to rise across the main break as fluttery motifs and harmonic refrains fade off into aquatic designs, as the beats re-emerge and the vocal flows through further evolution for a finale that should fare very well on all the daytime dancefloors out there. 'Emotional Things' proves to be a worthy compliment with it's exotic drum flurries and key changing buoyancy. Almost childlike sounding with it's playful creative lean, this is one of those feel good, unite the dancefloor type tunes for those sunrise moments.

Completing the release are Ilias Katelanos & Plecta who provide the lone interpretation of 'Midway'. Greek artist Ilias Katelanos is no stranger to the label having released 'Sud' as part of the 'Rumba Del Sud' EP earlier this year, while Plecta makes his debut following projects for Akbal Music, Melody of the Soul, Songuara, Tale & Tone and The Soundgarden. As occasional studio partners of late, the duo continue to build on their creative synergy with a gorgeous take on 'Midway'. Ilias and Plecta take straight aim at the dance floor with a beefed up, swing heavy groove which works amazingly well, and while the main themes of the original are present, they work in a more groove-centric context, keeping the full seven-minute journey both danceable and emotive to round out the release on a strong note. Highly recommended.

Eros, is the 7th EP of Various Artist from Droid9 South America, it includes 3 original mixes of pure Progressive House made by great artists. Among them are Argentine producers such as Konte, Andres Moris, Colou Befu and Ignacio Berardi.

Voice of experience, is the first track on this EP, made by Konte. In this track you can appreciate an ambient and dark sound, along with a very well achieved base, accompanied by a deep house sound to some extent. This creation keeps us in tune all the time, it is an ideal track for any time of the night, either at the end of a warm up or to generate a calmer atmosphere in an extensive set.

Into the light, is the second track, made by Andres Moris. This track obtained the support of Guy J (Echos 11/13/2020), in it we can notice in this creation a fine mixture in the Progressive House style, you can see solid drums accompanied by a powerful bassline, which when combined With the melody it begins to take us on a one-way trip to another dimension. Everything that seemed heavenly turns dark, minimal-style sounds begin to enter our ears which keeps the crowd to keep moving. It is an ideal track for any type of environment , in which listeners will go through different states of mind when being heard.

Sayonara, third track compiled by Colou Befu and Ignacio Berardi. You can see in this creation, a mix between an aggressive yet hypnotic and enveloping sound that progressively mutates and takes us on a journey from beginning to end. The combination of drums, melody and bass makes it sustain a good groove for the dance floor, which holds us to the floor and keeps us in constant motion. Undoubtedly this track can be used to exploit the night on any given dancefloor
